Vandy and Kentucky would love to have our issues. We will get better. They won't.

You're right. We lost by 35 at home last year to Oregon, our worst home loss since 1904, and by 31 to Bama. So our coach has the dubious distinction of delivering, in only 2 years, the 3 worst home losses in the modern era of Tennessee football. If that does not tell you how far we have fallen, I don't know what does.

if accurate then he's also tied with Fulmer on one of those (and that was a shutout)

Ok I have been on here for sometime now but never have posted. I'm a life long fan of the Vols or as the new saying goes VFL. My take on this team is that they are close but yet far away still.

Offense- The offense right now without Bray and Hunter is a mess. They ran well today but Simms decision making and reads are awful. The kid just isn't that good. He forces the ball. Personally as a coach I would rather go with Worley just because he can't be any worse. I know he needs to sit and take a redshirt. Now I understand he doesn't have faith in Z. Rogers well hell that's because the boy can't catch a cold. Coach please sit him on the bench. The line isn't bad, the center needs to go back to snapping the ball lefthanded seriously. Poole is a half way decent back nowhere near elite like you need in the SEC though. They did run well today though.

Defense- The defensive line is off the chain. They don't get many sack but they pressue QBs very well. LBs miss to many tackles and take some bad angles but they're young plain and simple. Now the big glaring issue especially in todays game was the horrid CB play they SUCK, coaches need to get on the recruiting and bring in better players at that position. LSU is a good/ great team, personally didn't expect us to win. Brewer has been one of if not the biggest disappointment this season to me. The guy has disappeared this season

Special Teams-Palardy isn't good either he's a bandaid for right now. Young chooses more often than not the wrong lane on returns but he does hit one every now and again.

I guess that maybe they might actually be able to do something since they got the critical play early before the harrowing first int.
Oh well at least it wasn't another execrable last play loss, and still will be dancing at a Harvest tonight. Bye Vols fans.

I swear you people are so fair weather and stupid!! You can't turn it around in two or three years after the bull we been through the last few years. It takes time Peyton said it best on tv today he likes Dooley and knows this program will be turned around where we were in the 90's. I agree it sucks right now so just suck it up take the loss and stand behind your team or go elsewhere!!!!

Okay so we come out with our hair on fire and play a pretty darn good first half minus to dumb mistakes but still close then just like last year we can't do a thing in the second have I'm getting sick of this we have to pump these guys up at the half and come out screaming again.. VFL

When we moved up here I was young , real young , the 2nd grade that was in 1957 from Baton Rouge . In 1958 , I got to watch as the Vols stopped Billy Cannon , To this day I feel as you feel right now. Cannon made it . Maybe Cannon made it maybe he did not. But it was the spot that counted .

I'm far from satisfied, but I'm not as flat angry as some of our fans. Maybe Dooley won't get it done, and I'd like as much as anyone to get an upset victory, but I know we've got a ways to go. Any coach we got would be given time. That's just how it is.

Been awhile since I've been here and I popped in to see if there was some "Anti-Dooley" rants...surprise..:rolleyes:
This is NOT the NFL, we can't hire some free agents to fill in the gaps. We have to hold firm on redshirts as much as possible. IMO, a good, growing, consistant program has to have enough physical conditioning to survive the game and the season. I'll cut my counter-rant short and just say: Coach, I'm behind you..no..I'm BESIDE you all the way. Go Vols!"*

Look we can cry and moan all we want but it the product on the field that gets the last word. Right now we have an unfinished product and trying to compete. The Defense is on the field toooo long to be dominat as they have shown flashes. By the second half they are spent. The Dline are playing their butts off. As an offense they need to sustain drives in the worst way. Wilcox is an alright coach with the right personnel I think he could be good. Overall as a team I think we're about four guys short or being the team we as fans desire. Also where in the hell was arnett all game.
