amazingly, the dumbasses who were shooting off mortar shells from the back porch of their zero-lot line home last night managed to not set the neighborhood on fire. I'm not in their development but could be affected if they managed to set the tree canopy on fire. big fireworks are for big spaces folks.

I'm not anti either. Shot off plenty and even sold the things one summer. It is illegal to shoot them off in Davidson County. Everyone, including the police, ignores it on the 4th so long as people are not going nuts. My present issue is an 80-something y.o. mother-in-law in my home who somehow has this idea the laws have to be enforced. She loves calling the po-po on suspicious activity. We've had talks about it. I don't know if paranoia is a precursor to dementia or just the by-product of having too much time on one's hand.

Yes. The summer I shared a tent with a HS buddy we bought from Old Glory in Smyrna. The markup was literally in the 1000s of percents. Crazy although you basically have two weeks to make money. There used to be US made fireworks. People may remember in the 80s some guy working in a small fireworks factory here in TN blew the place up and they found him dead in a tree.
