Absolutely nothing, except for when you paint your face to convince the hicks that you are one of them and care about the things they do when you don't. Kinda reminds me when he opened his campaign at Liberty University. It's all an act homie----every single second.

You mean like Dukakis in the tank, Clinton biting his lip and feeling your pain, Gore trying to appear to be a Tennessean when he grew up in a D.C. apartment, Kerry being a war hero, Obama being a Christian, and Hillary being down with the struggle because she ain't no ways tired?

He's a hell of a salesman to pull that much wool. I'm surprised so many have fallen for it.

I'm not sure if this was sarcasm or not, If it's not then I absolutely agree. The guy is an incredible self promoting salesman.

The key to good salesmanship is to identify your targets pain and offer solutions to sooth it. That's all he's done.

I wish the rights pain was a balanced budget and foreign policy repair, maybe then we'd be able to see where he was going to do something significant instead of hawing on about social wedge issues.

Racist bad social elitist Ok.

If someone stated he was going after the thug vote your head would explode.

No I don't. I get just as frustrated by HRC's pandering as I do with Cruz. Her dances and meeting with Black Live Matter protestors is nothing but that. Seriously, just because I hate Cruz many of you think that automatically means I'm a socialist who loves Obama and will vote for HRC; none of which is true.

mrorange is a Texan?

By the grace of God, I am not.

I think it's more than that. The whole notion of winning again is a big deal. Look at sentiment in the country - it is pessimistic and the current admin continues to come across as weak and overly PC.

Trump comes across as someone who won't put up with BS and will get things done.

The immigration thing is just an example - he's not *****footing around an issue EVERYONE knows is an issue (though preferred solutions vary widely).

He is projecting strength in an era of a mom-jeans POTUS that appears completely delusional to the issues people care about.

Whether there is substance behind the show I don't know but it's not just about hating Muslims.

No, I don't think any of that, I just think you believe yourself to be above others, hence your offensive "hick" remark. You fit one of the Dem profiles.

Ever heard of Jerry Clower? I guess his constant hick jokes indicated that he believed he was better than others. Your argument sucks. Go figure.

You are sharp. I've only been doing it for 7 years. I refer to them as the "turds"

Even better. "Gators"

Jerry's routine falls in the same category as a Chris Rock routine, humor. Yours reeks of elitism by insinuating only hicks would fall for Cruz's spiel.

I hear you and don't disagree that people are on the Trump Train due to his unwavering confidence, never apologizing and smacking down anyone who dares cross him. I think it's hilarious personally.

The problem is that when it comes to actual political substance, he's offered little. I'm less interested in his ability to dis his competition and more interested in his tax plans, how he and legislative branch are going to work together to reduce the deficit while paying for the defense costs, medicare etc.

Not really, because they haven't been used historically to disenfranchise or limit the rights of others. I see them as slang terms that are largely harmless.

No it doesn't. I was giving an example of how Cruz panders to the people he knows he needs to win. Just like he did at Liberty and just like Hillary does on the Ellen show. But do't let me stop your characterization with facts.

Did you see the split screen of Cruz clapping along with Trump talking about the 9/11 clean up?

I guess there wasn't anything else he could do at that point, but you know inside he was going "fffffuuuuuuuuu..."

It was a very bad moment for Cruz, no doubt, and from a strategic perspective I fail to grasp his logic. I enjoy politics partly because I like to observe strategies and maneuvering, but for the life of me I can not figure out what Cruz' motivation was for making the initial comment about Trump having "NY values". And as calculating as he is, I doubt this was a comment he made without giving it prior thought.

Was he simply trying to point out that Trump is not a southerner in preparation for the SC debate and primary? Did he fail to understand that many people associate themselves with NY, and clearly miss the 9/11 response by it's citizens which Trump was wise to include in his retort? Was he hoping it would somehow help him in IA as they may not like "NY values"?

Thoughts?

How can you characterize one as comedy and the other as not? Which politician, in your opinion, does not pander to the people they know they need to win???

I think that we need to look at the reason behind including the term "natural born citizen" in Article 2 in the Constitution, for one of the qualifications to become President. You also have to have lived in the U.S. for 14 years I think.

It was done to keep foreign influence out of the office of the Presidency. I doubt that Canada will have a great deal of influence in this election. However, if it is adjudicated to mean actually born on U.S. soil, I have no problem excluding Cruz.

I can't for the life of me, think that the framers would think that Canadian, or even Cuban influence would be a reason to lock out Cruz.

If the framers intent for the president to be born on American soil, that would exclude those being born in any foreign country to become president with the exception of those born at an US military base located in a foreign county which is considered American soil.
