Official Debate I Thread

Rand Paul and Bush are the only 2 that stand a chance in the general. Bush because of name. Rand because he can actually get the most Ds and moderates.

And I don't see a cold day in hell that a bush can get votes from enough people.. Especially anyone young voters.. I can see rand tho

Rand has zero chance in the general. I'm convinced of that now, he is way out of his depth. Kasich IMO was the most impressive and most Presidential of all last night.

I'd argue Christie has a better chance than Paul, but only slightly and neither is close to the chance Bush has.

Is there ever a moment that you arent acting like a petulant child? Ever heard of actually paying attention to an entire campaign before deciding on who you want to vote for?

There's nothing childish about it at all. To claim you don't have a favorite at this point is bs. Clearly someone is voting for trump, yet no one is willing to admit it.

I wouldn't bet against Clinton getting close because so many will be all over her potentially being the first woman to be President.

Hell even women don't like her.

And let's face facts, no matter what women say they want a man in charge. :)

This is another example of why you're so special......you asked who I liked and when I replied at this point that NONE of them in particular ......you somehow take this to mean I'm incapable of forming my own opinion...... Let me explain.... IMO....while there are numerous candidates running AT THIS POINT I'm not that excited by any of them .... Meaning I don't particularly favor one above the others after one debate....

Once again, that's bs. Even if you have a top 3, or a 4 way tie. You favor someone.

I agree 100 % with that... And I see it all over social media (Republican=bad /racist out of touch)

(democrat= good / move forward)

I don't care if it's Hilary or even Biden throwing his hat in... They will vote cuz they hate the other party not cuz they actually listen to what they say.

I think Paul stands the best chance in the general simply because he can get some of the deciding states flipped. Not sure any of the other candidates can do that. He's the only one right now I can see beating Hillary.

Kasich really surprised me though. He handled the gay question the way anyone should have.

I don't see it. He didn't impress me in the least last night. Plus he has almost zero experience and record, that will be his Achilles heel in the general, he will not get the pass Obama did.

There will be more anti-Clinton turnout than pro-Clinton turnout unless the Rs nominate Bush.

Yeah and we were told there would be more anti-Obama turnout in 2008 and especially 2012 and it didn't happen. I'll believe it when I see it.

Weird that the guy with the most fringe opinions and least amount of time to express them didn't impress. Brilliant job by FNC to goad him with the Chrisie nonsense and then ignore him after.

Paul didn't do himself any favors but the deck is stacked against him.

Did anyone else think it was odd that Trump admitted to gaming the system for chapter filings? I also think it's a sad indictment that he could openly admit that he gave money to politicians for favors. And no one batted an eye - probably because half the panel has taken money from him. He seemed proud of it, how is this ok?

One thing about Trump is he is brutally honest. He could have hemmed and hawed over the answer he gave, but he gave the correct (and only) answer to the question that was posed. And I don't know if they didn't bat an eye over his answer or were too shocked to respond with the limited time they had.

Bombastic attitude and dislike aside, the man will tell you what he's thinking. He may not be Presidential, but honesty is kind of refreshing for a change.

With as bad as Ds are, it's hard for Rs to come to the realization that most Rs can't beat them. But it's the truth.

But the truth is the majority of these guys are better for the job than her but ignorance of voters... Social media moves the vote these days.. Keep em dumb less educated on actual fiscal problems.. Pander to the social issues only.. And they win regardless. It sucks

What are you basing this on. Have you looked at polls?

Too early to put any stock in polling. She has yet to be put in the spotlight, answer questions or participate in a debate. Once her team is not in total control of the situation and questions, her true nature will come out.

Hey huff I know il get chewed up and spit out for posting this because it's laughable and not considered news source. But just to show the opinion of a youth Web news outlet here's a piece on Rubio last night.

I've not really paid attention to Rubio that much, but from what I saw from last night he's charismatic. He speaks and others listen. And charisma is a powerful weapon in any election.

It's going to be interesting to see how he performs going forward.
