20 days and a "Night Before the Game Admittedly Off Topic Thread" + a wake up.

Hello to my fellow VFL's. New to VN, lifelong Volunteer fan. I didn't know of another thread to introduce myself, so anyway, I can't wait to get to know you all and I can't wait for a great season from our VOLS!!!
Welcome to VN! Jump in and post as often as you like.

There are precisely 500 hours left until It's Football Time in Tennessee (7 p.m. Central today to 3 p.m. Central in Nashville on Sep 5th)!

Sounds like forever, doesn't it? I mean, ... even one hour ... seems like a long time ... second hand ticking along ... so slowly...

But consider this:
--> you'll sleep through about 168 of those hours;
--> you'll be having a nice meal, or a rushed breakfast or an over-rated lunch through about 42 of them;
--> you'll be working (okay, reading VolNation while pretending to work) through 120 or so;
--> you'll be showering through another 8 or 10;
--> you'll be hoping to get lucky with your significant other through 24 to 27 minutes of the wait (newlyweds, multiply by 100);

...and so you really only have to find a way to live through about 160 hours worth of undistracted anticipation!

You could go to 58 movies to fill the time...
or
You could host 16 evening-long poker sessions with your buds, combined with two weekend-long visits to Bass Pro expos...
or
You could write 288 posts on VolNation and read 2,416 posts by others. Hehehe...

Hmm...

Well, here's the good news.

While you were reading this, somewhere between 30 seconds and a minute passed (Bama fans: 4 minutes or so).

So there is hope.

It can't get here soon enough.

Tick.

Tick.

Go Vols!

I am bringing my son and father-in-law to the Arkansas game from Nebraska. We are Nebraska Huskers but have always wanted to experience a game at Tennessee and look forward to being a "Vol for a day." This seems like the place to go for tips on how to best enjoy the game day experience. Any helpful suggestions on what to do and where to be (we are flying in Friday morning) would be appreciated. Go Vols!

Welcome to VN! Go to the PUB forum and start a thread with your question. You will get a lot of help and insight there.

I'd check the Vols tailgating, visitor and gathering forum.
