Official Coaching Search Thread

Can we please just get to the real root of the problem and reinstate the Orange Pride?

They were laughing at UT using a search firm for AD and I have to admit it is kind of silly if you think about it. Here you are the administration and surely you know what your looking for but you hire a firm clear across the country to find a fit for you. All this is such a waste of money, do your job administration and interview who you like. Dadgum we are hiring people to tell us who to hire, how about the administration interview and hire who they are looking for. There are enough good names right under your nose your don't need to pay someone to find you candidates. Pathetic. Wake up Tennessee.
If UTK approaches someone who’s under contract, they could be sued for tortious interference. Search firm keeps it at arms length. I’m sure Boyd, Plowman and some key boosters have a list.

As elementary as your posts are, it’s really not a tough read. Thank you for so eloquently (look it up) making my point. Belichik couldn’t even make the playoffs after TB12 left, in fact he had a losing record just like his 36-44 record at Cleveland.
Every post you make further proves how clueless you are. The Patriots had more COVID holdouts this year than any other team - eight starters held out. Then their Pro Bowl shutdown corner Stephon Gilmore got hurt. And before the season started two of their three best linebackers, Van Noy and Collins, departed for other teams. (The other top linebacker, Hightower, held out.)

They would have struggled mightily this year even with Brady. But by all means keep on misrepresenting the truth and pretending that you know anything at all about football.

Also, you misspelled Belichick, genius. There's also a grammar error in your first sentence: "it's," should be, "they're."

That’s all you got, lame ass excuses and typo corrections. You better hustle out the door jr you are late for the bus.

I saw yesterday that some are saying Jason Witten is a possibility for HC. Please no. We need a guy with HC experience regardless of whether or not he played here or has (probably) the ability to do the job. Maybe bring him in as a position coach, but no way would I consider him for HC.

I say we should all be positive. Seriously, let's be freaking positive that it's going to fall into place.

I'm also the person that said that I'm starting to believe that Tennessee is cursed so I'm unreliable at the very best.

This is the most magical time. Grumors, people staking out the local airports, people wanting to hire manning, a new thread every 5 seconds to repeat the same thing every other thread stated.

It’s the best part of being a VFL
Yes, but this time seems much more subdued. Less drama.

Are you basing that on all the elite NFL coaches that Bellichick has produced?

Could just be a Rooney Rule, could be legit. He was a well respected player by all accounts and certainly you have to admit the Belichick coaching tree in college is pretty successful when you factor in Saban, Ferentz, and Pat Hill did/are doing plus early tenured NFL coaches like Vrabel, Judge, and Flores. Everyone thinks about Weiss and Crennel and maybe even McDaniels, but those aren't his only coaches. Guy has churned out as many good ones as bad ones. That's not at all to say Mayo should be considered or is ready to be a HC at all, but I don't think the Belichick coaching stigma is universal. I think Belichick's system and style translate well to college, I think the biggest reason it works in the NFL is because guys respect Belichick whereas its hard to implement that type of culture elsewhere when you don't have his resume. Patricia had no respect to back up his tough talk and culture BS, so guys rejected it. I don't think college kids reject it as easily.

You tried to imply you had better language skills than I do with your oh-so-impressive usage of the abstruse, little-known word, "eloquently," and I put you in your place. A typo is accidentally typing the wrong letter, not misusing a verb; the latter is a very basic grammar error indicative of low education level.

Also, your second sentence above is a run-on sentence and, "jr," should have a period after it in order to be a proper abbreviation.

Bill Clark is 51-26 at Jacksonville State and UAB. He basically started the UAB program from scratch in 2014. He has two C-USA championships and was the Eddie Robinson COY in 2018. In his one year at Jackson State in 2013, they set 49 school records, 13 OVC records, and three NCAA records. He is only 52 and is from the South. Get on a plane and go get him today.

I like him along with Tom Allen and O’Brien.

Witten should never be considered. We made the mistake of hiring someone without head coaching experience last time, but Witten has never even been a position coach. Other than playing for UT, why would we think he’d make a better coach than any other veteran NFL player?

He's also a born and bred gump. Born and raised in Alabama. Coached almost his entire career there, including Tuscalloosa County HS. Widely rumored that he's a huge Alabama fan and actively tried to negative recruit his HS players against Auburn. Does anyone really want another gump anywhere near this school?
