Guys I'm going to put together a coaching search board with all of our many potential candidates listed. What I would like for you to do is post legitimate links of articles or opinion pieces that relate to any of our candidates. I think this will help us seperate things are actually being reported from the heresay.

:hi:
11/3 SI: Kiffen and Brewster could be options
11/4 ESPN: Cutcliff, Davis and Spurrier not interested in Tennessee job
11/5 Sporting News: Tennessee should hire Leach
11/5 Sporting News Tennessee should hire Kelly
11/5 Opinion: Three for Tennessee - Leach, Brown, Spurrier
11/5 Cutcliffe reassures Duke players and recruits he's staying
11/5 Texas Tech, UNC coaches seem unlikely to leave
11/5 Chavis won't pursue UT vacancy
11/6 Chris Low on Kiffen's possible staff (great read)
11/6 Biddle: Davis seems best fit for Vols

Davis is leading candidate to replace Fulmer

If UT can't get Davis, Mike Leach of Texas Tech and Brian Kelly of Cincinnati will become strong possibilities. Tim Brewster from Minnesota will also be considered.

Tim Brewster gets a huge NO vote from me, the other two get major YES votes. Brewster is hardly winning games at Minnesota and Minnesota is not even a top-flight program. Plus, he doesn't have enough experience.

Rumor has it Tennessee's new coach will be ... | Cincinnati Enquirer | Cincinnati.Com

To be fair the probable source that created the sources for this article has denied having said what he was quoted or having any sources

The hunch here is that Hamilton makes a semi-public play for Leach to satisfy the fan base, goes hard at Kiffin and spends much time behind the scenes attempting to lure Davis away from North Carolina.

"Then there’s Lane Kiffin, who needs a job after being fired by the Oakland Raiders this season. Kiffin was the Southern Cal offensive coordinator in 2005, when the Trojans became the first team in NCAA history to have a 3,000-yard passer (Matt Leinart), two 1,000-yard rushers (Reggie Bush and LenDale White) and a 1,000-yard receiver (Dwayne Jarrett).
In other words, pretty much the same talent he’d be inheriting in Knoxville."

Did this guy watch the Vols at all this year?

No, we need to bring back kippy Brown, best WR coach the Vols have EVER known. He coached when the vols were known as wide receiver U. But neither as head coach.

Just saw this on ESPN -

Will Muschamp is out. Texas gave him a raise and said that if he stayed he would succeed Mack Brown as Head Coach. Muschamp decided to stay at Texas.

.no athletic department would ever do that, that is such crap, there is no and i repeat no program that has a named successor. Where is the proof, link, or whatever...and if it did happen, it may not be a first within closed doors but its got to be a first to nationally advertise this.

What happens if muschamp gets a dui....or gets caught with some co-ed...not saying it will happen, but hey...you are saying he is a shoe in after mac goes....well i look forward to the day when mac leaves retires, or whatever....

If muschamp wants to stay with texas so be it...no loss

Jimbo Fisher at Florida State and Joker Phillips at Kentucky beg to differ.

Yeah, ya ever watch a Kentucky or FSU game? Succeeding Bowden and Brooks is what they talk about 50% of the time. If they televise the UT/Kentucky game, I promise you that it will be mentioned. Also Randy Sanders will be mentioned 5,274 times as UT's former, former OC.

But, to get back on point, my vote is for Leach or the Boise State guy, whatever his name is.

Ok fine, espn said it so it must be true...then from what we can gather from that (if it is true and i will not believe it till i hear it from someone from the texas staff credible) is they are grooming muschamp for the head coach position. I have no problems with that as long as what you spew can be verified. Espn has been wrong before and i am not saying they are wrong now but what does mac brown have to say about it. What does the athletic department have to say about it.

I challenge anyone to get the athletic department, or any coach involved to comment...this is a legal nightmare...or yes muschamp got a raise, was promiced head coach position....all i am saying.....is mac brown must be leaving soon (when, i dont know) in order for that comment to come out, or someone really overstepped their bounds.

If muschamp is all that someone besides texas will pick him up, he is not proven...he has never held the reigns on this level, not proven...tennessee will never chance something like that. Muschamp will not coach tennessee, maybe if there is a defensive corridinator position open and the money is right...maybe....but he will have to be offered the job first.

As far as he is the next head coach at texas.....post some proof....espn is not the word, they are the press...as some would say the pulse. Post something from texas, something concrete on that fact, a texas paper, saying something like that, otherwise it is all crap, and if you believe everything espn says, then you are misled. I believe espn, only when the game is over and they are reporting (fact)

until then lets focus on the next head coach for the vols.
