I read the thread last week. Doesn't mean you shouldn't be ridiculed for your knee-jerk reactions. Live with it, the guy who said we should bench Lofton a game before he scored about a million points got the same treatment.

Absolutely bizarre. The second best yardage and td season total in UT history was "nowhere near the 04 version"?

I've said Bray had more upside than Simms for months. I just didn't think it was right for Simms to get benched for bad OL play. I just wanted to set the record it was after he threw the INT on his first pass not after he blew up South Carolina. Simms didn't lose the job, but he didn't win it with his performance either. I thought he managed games well enough to continue. I'm not the coach so my opinion really doesn't matter.

Simms didn't get benched for bad OL play. Simms got benched because he is terrible.

Ehh... if Ainge had progressed the way he should have, he would have been one of the best QBs Tennessee has ever seen. I mean, how many freshmen have you seen look that poised?

Matt can be a great backup but he doesn't have the quickest football mind. He holds the ball and throws too late resulting in sacks and picks.

Bray is still young but shows a better feel for the game. Great to have him on board. He's still going to make mistakes but his upside is terrific.

Kudos to Dooley to make the right decision to make the switch now. It's genius. Bray will develop during the November schedule of cupcakes, gain confidence and rapport with the fellow freshman and sophomores.

I don't like Kiffin but glad he landed Bray.

Dooley knows what he's doing. Simms starting the season and transitioning to Bray in November was the plan back in August. Only a hunch.

On another note...someone please start a new thread about Saban leaving Bama. I'm new and haven't gotten my 20 posts in yet.

Now that Bama has lost 2 games and will likely lose to Auburn, does anyone think Saban will get bored or is ready for a new challenge? He'll have to break in a new quarterback, likely a new running back (though Trent Richardson would start for 11 other SEC schools) and wide receiver.

Saban never stays too long in one spot and if he takes over a place like Penn State when JoePa leaves (400 wins...WOW!!), he could win a national championship at a third school.

He WAS one of the best UT has seen. Career #s show it. Not to mention 2 of top 4 overall seasons stat-wise.

govols182 and milohimself should both be ridiculed for their knee jerk reactions. Or for just being terrible at evaluating quarterbacks. However you wanna spin it.

Yeah, because I said Bray was a horrible QB and all. I said he had better upside, just didn't think he was ready yet. Nowhere did I say Bray sucked. Go eat a hotdog.

Man up to what? He threw a pick on his first series and I said he wasn't ready. Never once did I say he sucked and Simms will be better career wise. I've stated for months that Bray had more upside but wasn't ready. You guys need to learn some comprehension skills.
