Official Bray Train thread (merged)

Yes simms takes way to long to throw the football and when the pressure gets to him he cant escape or elude the defenders

Are you saying Bray has cat like relexes? I don't think he can ellude tackles any better than Simms. He does get the ball out better and his play action is much better.

I jus't worry about him getting snapped like a twig with this O-line of ours.

Simms has the arm strength, but no accuracy and touch. Bray has it all, just needs the experience. Bray also steps up in the pocket.

I'm in the Bray camp now. He should be our starter for the rest of the season.

I feel he gives us the best chance to win now, as well as gaining valuable experience for next season.

Should be a full train load....not sure if there are any Simms supporters left out there.

Were we watching the same game?

Bray showed some good moves in the pocket. My complaint about him is I see an overall lackadaisical style of play. He can throw it, but I don't see enough urgency in his movement.

Simms has good mobility as well, just has a slower release, which is his greatest weakness. Despite that, I feel Simms played well enough not to lose the job, but oh well.

Yes. We have to because he gave our offense rhythym, he can make the throws that Simms can't, he is our future, and most of all he clearly won the job today. The pick 6 was the only downside, but without Bray in the game, it would've been a complete blowout. If Simms was playing, we wouldn't have scored over 17 points. I had my doubts about Bray being qb when the offense had trouble with penalties last week, but now he is clearly the best qb.

im on the bray train as well now. although i could've kicked the TV in when he threw that pick.

Granted I had a few beers, but it did seem playing Bray also allowed more plays to be used. I think the play calling was much better once they had confidence in Bray, another plus for playing Bray.

Bray can also feel the pressure better and does what he needs to do to get out of trouble instead of fumbling.

What game were you watching? He stepped up in the pocket to elude the rush several times today. Simms never does that. Also, Bray got hammered several times today and I'm pretty sure he's still in one piece.

How do you know we wouldn't have drove down the field with Simms in the game down by 7? With Bray in the game on the first drive he made us down 14. How do you know that?

I'm sticking with mine. I don't think Simms played bad.

He didn't play 'good' either. Holds the ball way too long and has done so since Day #1. I'm completely of the opinion that Bray gives us the best chance to win the football games we have left.

I was not for playing Bray, but AFTER the pick he looked good. Other than the fumbles Simms looked good also. at one point he was 6/6.

If after today, you dont think bray is our guy you are crazy. I know, i know he has a pretty bad int. his first play, but unlike simms, he does not lose confidence and turn it over in the redzone nearly everytime. Bray was great and accurate pretty much all game and can step up in the pocket. How many times when Bray stepped up would Simms been sacked? nearly all of them, including when bray stepped up and threw a 30 yard bomb to D-mo and the Td pass to GJones. Bray is our guy, now if Bray gets less 1st team reps than Simms, i will be pissed at Dooley. But i truly believe he is our guy. Go ahead, scold me.

Why is this thread labeled the way it is? The OP post was in support of Simms, not Bray.

Simms was having a very good day, the first fumble wasn't his fault at all...the second he was partially responsible for but was still a busted block on his blind side.

Bray's pick six basically cost us any chance at winning... although he did recover nicely and made some good throws.

Bray gets sacked just as much as Simms and overthrows receivers more than Simms.

I'm not saying I think we win the game if Simms stays in... but Bray was not better than
Simms on this day, I'd call it a wash. Both played pretty good, but had key mistakes, the pick six being the biggest mistake of the day. I did disagree with the decision to pull Simms, at the time, because he wasn't the problem and was actually play well, the OL had a terrible game.
