Only if they finish above us

I would think the committee would say sending tenn to Dallas woudnt be any kind of geographical placement so they would see it as a way to get 1 of the two places instead of neither with favorable locations. Hope that makes sense

What would suck. We run table win sec tournament and sneak into the last 1 seed. I know not happening. But if we did. As a 1 seed become the first ever 1 loss to a 16. Talk about a bummer. But hoping we get a high 2 seed and avoid going west.

Wow, what a mindset...

We've been down this road. Nobody should think this way.

Not this again.

I disnt say it will happen. I said it would suck. This team is just as capable of making a final four run as they are bowing out game 1. Sometimes their focus is bipolar.

Would be great to be in the South bracket so I might possibly be able to make a game; Virginia as the 1 seed, then you get no. 8 Purdue as the 2 and Vols as a 3 or 4. As a 3 would have a great chance to get to the regional final and who knows what happens in a single game. Get hot from 3 knock off the Cavaliers and we dancing in the final 4.

One of the bracket matrix participants...

Here is our top 4 seeds

Virginia
Villanova
Xavier
Kansas

Purdue
Duke
Tennessee
North Carolina

Michigan St
Auburn
Cincinnati
West Virginia

Texas Tech
Wichita St
Kentucky
Clemson

Yes please.

BPI's projected Bracket has Tennessee as a 3 seed in the Boston Region against Northern Kentucky in the first round. And a second round matchup against Miami/USC. On the 3 line with Cincy, Clemson, and OSU. Based on the teams ahead of us, I think among the 3 seeds they're looking at only 1 going to Nashville, 2 in Dallas and 1 in Wichita. Btw, this is their bracket based on projections through the end of conference tournaments. Interestingly, they have us as the favorite to win the SEC tournament, and despite that, we're still just a 3. If Cincy wins their tournament they believe they will remain ahead of us.

Allegedly, NKU is one of the 1st rd matchups we want to avoid.

Matrix update from today...

The Bracket Project's Bracket Matrix - 2018

Vols pass Cincinnati (barely) and trail Auburn as the top 3 seed...it would appear we have the best chances to pass these teams: Duke/UNC, Purdue/Michigan State, Auburn. I have the first 2 paired because they’re in the same conference tourney, so it’s likely at least 1 falls. What we don’t want is Duke/UNC playing in ACCT final or Purdue/Michigan State playing in B10T final.

Don’t see Unc making it to their conference championship.

Discussing UT’s chances to play in Nashville for the NCAA tournament with Jerry Palm: “If Tennessee wins the regular season outright they will clinch Nashville. If Auburn & Tennessee both win Saturday it will come down to who does best in the SEC tournament to play in Nashville.”

...

Doesn’t make any sense based on his bracket, but who knows.

Jerry Palm currently has us in west starting in dallas if we make second weekend we play in Los Angeles. Bad region. We should be in east or south.

They’d likely be sweating it. 34 rpi, SOS 160, OOC SOS 183

Lose to 6-25 Pepperdine and well, committee might not be that impressed lol

I am curious as to how big of a hit the RPI works for a potential loss like this. Pepperdine comes into this game standing at 316.
