I decided last month to try to read some more "classic" books. I just finished the D'Artegnan romances by Dumas (Three Musketeers, Twenty years later, Man in the Iron Mask) and I am currently reading A Farewell to Arms by Hemingway.
Great thread idea. :hi:
Yall should look into PATHWAYS if you are going to school or planning to. They someimtes have interp or ranger assistant positions available. Also undergrad position. https://www.usajobs.gov/StudentsAndGradsI'd like to be a park ranger, too.
I recently watched the first Hobbit movie with my son in anticipation of seeing the current one in theaters with him.
We then powered through Fellowship of the Ring and the Two Towers. Return of the King is on deck for this weekend.
All this exposure to middle earth has inspired me to re-read the Hobbit and LOTR. The Hobbit is a quick read. I am 188 pages in the Fellowship of the Ring.

Yep. I went on a binge of them a few years ago. I think I may have even talked about them in this very thread.Have you ever read Louis Lamour books?
Searching this thread makes me realize that I read a lot more a few years ago. I need to up my game.Good thread bump. I was just thinking of this one.
Recently I have read the Sackett series and Hondo by L'Amour, a few of the Alex Cross books by Patterson (total junk food for the brain) and the Great Santini at the suggestion of BPV (fantastic book).
I also read The Road and No Country for Old Men in there. I am going to get my hands on a copy of Suttree pretty soon.
At the suggestion of one of my work colleagues, I am about 90 pages into "A Game of Thrones" by George R.R. Martin. Looks like an interesting series of books.
