Official Book Thread - What You're Reading & Everything Book Related (merged)

I am reading What The Night Knows. It is pretty slow right now. I am going to head to the used bookstore and pick me up some things by Harlan Coben, David Baldacci, and Brad Thor. I blaze through those.

Just started " A game of Thrones" good book so far. Its very long.

If y'all like murder mysteries, check out Jefferson Bass. These are co-written by Dr Bass (think body farm). The main character is a UT prof and all the books are set in East TN.

I am reading the latest edition of Slam (Now fix it front cover), Badasses The legend of foo, snake, dr death and John Madden's Oakland Raiders, UT College football vault and a book on the Audi R8 (Protoype) by Ian Wagstaff

I started reading a Jefferson Bass book, maybe the first one, that I got for free on my Nook. It's really good so far.

I'm currently reading Under the Dome by Stephen King. One-hundred or so pages in and it's getting good.

Does anyone else have a problem immediately starting to get tired once you start reading?

It's great! I'm a slow reader so I'm only about 285 pages in so far. The only thing that stops me from reading it is falling asleep.

Yea, I really liked it, alot! I started 11-22-63 a couple of weeks ago, and just don't have the time I use to to devote to reading, so I'm still workin on it, but so far its been great!

Pretty excited so far, but I'm only bout 40 pages in.

I just bought that book but I will be buying and reading this - http://www.amazon.com/American-Snip...=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1323125592&sr=1-1 - before I start King's book.

I love King
He's my very favorite :)

I finished it about a month ago. It was really good. Obviously there are many twists but not the usual amount for a King novel. Also read Under the Dome if you havent already.

This may make me sound pretty desperate for a reader but I honestly enjoyed the Hunger Games Trilogy. I am hoping the ole man card does get revoked but please before you judge give it a read. It seems like she is a left leaning writer but politics aside it was a good read.

I got off to a slow start on this one so its takin me longer than usual to finish, but hopin to finish soon..I really like it so far.

Just finished A Briefer History of Time by Stephen Hawking. It was just as ridiculous as A Brief History of Time.

Do explain, please. More of a philosophy guy rather than a theory guy?

I enjoy reading about theoretical physics, it is absolutely fascinating; however, every theoretical physicist will admit that there are plenty of gaps and holes in both the Theory of Relativity and in Quantum Theory, and that the two theories are inconsistent with each other (even Hawking says this much). Hawking sees these inconsistencies, yet he fervently maintains that the ultimate answer and the Theory of Everything must lie within one of them. He also writes in a very 'religious manner' and uses emotive influence to stand in as premises to accept what he is trying to sell.
