I think one thing the game does well is give you plenty of information. Lots of times I tend to get lost and/or have moments when I don't what exactly I'm supposed to be doing. This does well with offering hints and giving you a good idea what you need to do. I'm not saying it makes it totally linear, but it's rare that you have hard time knowing what all you need to do. Much better than average in this department.
It's really a lot like Condemned but done so, so much better. The whole immersion into Rapture and the city history is very slick.
An all around polished, solid game with some unique approaches to first person shooters and weapon management.
There's minor gripes about enemy variety and weapon aiming, etc. but they take very little away once you get involved with the story and enjoying it.
