I agree, though, that there are plenty of exceptions to that. QB is a decent indicator but defense is probably a better one
 
I'm just saying "Kaep vs. Wilson" is a bad example. Are you talking about Flacco? Because his postseason run was maybe the best ever by a QB

Kaep is a great example of not just always taking the better QB in the playoffs. He beat Aaron Rodgers that year. Should've just left Wilson off to be clearer I guess.
 
Yeah, Kaepernick, Rex Grossman, Trent Dilfer show what a good defense can do for you. Kaepernick also ran for like 180 yards against the Packers, so I wouldn't call him a "game manager" in the same way, but he's obviously not better than Rodgers.
 
My memory is going, but Wilson beat Rodgers while throwing 4 picks in the NFC Championship game. I'll add Wilson back in.
