Well, I figured I would go ahead and start this one since the GOP convention has ended. After the GOP convention ended the DNC released a partial list of speakers for their convention.

The convention speaker list includes Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts; Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley; Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, the former White House Chief of Staff; and former Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine, who is running for a U.S. Senate seat.

Earlier this week, convention organizers announced that Newark Mayor Cory Booker and Rep. Barbara Lee of California would participate in revealing the party's platform.

Among the speakers announced Friday are House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, the convention announced.

Congressional Hispanic Caucus Chair Charlie Gonzalez, Congressional Black Caucus Chairman Emanuel Cleaver, Rep. John Lewis of Georgia, and Judy Chu, who is among the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus, will also speak, the convention announced.

Dems using basically the same old crowd while the GOP introduced a new young group of leaders to the nation.

On that aspect the GOP wins the battle of conventions.

Is Bill or Hillary speaking? I have always had the feeling the Clintons do not like Obama.

If I had the stomach for it I would watch to see how it plays out, because it's going to be interesting to see their plan of attack. There will be some blame Bush but I am guessing they will continue to play up this fake war on women and talk about how bad Romney is because he is rich.

The one thing that won't happen is Barry talking about his record and the economy.

Surprising to see Kerry, Pelosi and Reid on the speaker list with Congressional approval ratings in the near single digits. I'd say the same thing if the GOP trotted out Mitch McConnell and John Boehner.

Well Bill Clinton and Obama will definitely be heavy weights. Booker will be on par with many of the young R speakers at the RNC but the rest of the group looks pretty weak. Team vs Team, RNC wins but DNC has two hall of famers (in terms of political punch) and RNC had none.

The big message of the DNC will be Romney is a return to the failed policy of the past - you would think they'd try to accomplish that by showing something other than the failed leaders of the last 4 years.

Not doubling down with women speakers?

They are the sought-after voters, apparently.

DNC security rules trigger free speech worries - CBS News

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Starting Saturday, someone walking through Charlotte's central business district could run afoul of the law by carrying water bottles, hair spray, socks or magic markers under sweeping security rules enacted ahead of the Democratic National Convention.

It would take a particularly strict reading of the rules for someone to be arrested simply for possessing one of those items, but the possibility exists — which worries protesters and free speech advocates. They fear authorities could trample on people's constitutional rights in the name of protecting public safety.

I don't understand how anyone could have created a ton of higher end jobs within a decade of a recession. How does one go about that?

Ask Bill Clinton and to a lesser extent George W. Bush

One area that generates high paying jobs is oil exploration. Obama could have taken credit for thousands of jobs had he not signed an offshore drilling moratorium and signed on to the Keystone XL pipeline.

Whoops, worded that poorly. I meant in the decade after a recession.

Obama screwed the pooch on the pipelines. I'm just not a believer in offshore drilling. One thing we've been failing miserably on would be nuclear energy.

there's a lot of oil offshore and it's stupid to not exploit the resources

I live in charlotte and its a nightmare here. Homeland security and cops everywhere. Downtown is shut down....great. Someone went and spray painted "we hate Obama" on most of the billboards on the interstate over the weekend. Big rush to cover that up...Obama actually won here last time around. Bet it doesn't happen again.

Hearing Chris Matthews actually makes me want to vote for Romney. Earlier today he was demonzing what he believed the RNC's message and tactics were, when it was identical to everything the Obama campaign has done in the past 3 months.

Funny how msnbc coverage is doing a 180 now. But they're not biased at all right?
