Official 2010 Football Season Prediction Thread

Tennessee Martin - W (48-10)
Oregon - W (24-20)
Florida - L (17-31)
UAB - W (34-17)
LSU - L (14-24)
Georgia -W (17-14)
Alabama -L (17-30)
S. Carolina - W (38-13)
Memphis - W (34-10)
Mississippi - W (27-24)
Vandy - W (45-10)
Kentucky - W (35-24)

I think we have a real great shot at 9-3 with us going Outback Bowl against Iowa.

Sep. 4 Tennessee Martin- WIN- 48-24 We discover that our offense isn't the problem Matt Sims POTG 1-0

Sep. 11 Oregon -Loss- 30-37 Hate that we let this one go player of the game LaMichael James 150+ yards. They go into this game running a spread offense, but when the run starts working they just keep grinding it out. 1-1

Sep. 18 Florida -WIN- 34-31- Yeah, I know...but I am saying we pull this one off. They are missing several offensive weapons. Brantly had a great passer rating when he played last year but he didn't play a lot not that we have a ton of experience at QB. Enjoy this cause it will be a while before we beat them again. POTG T. Poole 130+ yards 3 TD's 2-1

Sep. 25 UAB WIN- 31-17 easy...leading rusher and passer both graduated (ironically they are the same person) M. Hughes 2 sacks 3 TFL 3-1

Oct. 2 at LSU Loss 42-31 tough place to play Their leading WR and RB both graduated, but the No. 2 Reciever from last year is still there. 53 catches last year 3 TD's. Can we get pressure? POTG Jordan Jefferson 3-2

Oct. 9 at Georgia Loss- 31-28 yeah we beat Florida but lose to UGA It won't be due to A.J. Green. Gordon will do a good job of shutting him down with the help of Jackson. The running game kills us again.POTG Ealy for those that lose stars Ealy was a 4 star coming out of high school. That means he has to be good right? Last year 125 carries for 717 yards and a 5.7 ypc. 3-3

Oct. 23 Alabama Loss- 55-24 hard to compete...It's bad...Pick your poison. I say POTG Richardson 3-4

Oct. 30 at South Carolina WIN-27-17 finally back to the W Carolina has all of their skill players returning. Chris Smelley last year was ranked 7th in QB passer rating for USCe, but ranked 4th in TD passes. Kenny Miles a FR last year was ranked 12th in the SEC in rushing yards. Jefferey comes back at WR tied at 9th for receptions with 46. He was tied with Gerald Jones. Despite these two sophmores and Jr. QB we still get this considering last year they were ranked last in rushing yards given up and that is where we attack. POTG Poole 4-4

Nov. 6 at Memphis WIN 34-10 Hudgins plays good for Memphis, but they just don't have the running game to support them. POTG T. Bray he has taken the starting spot. 5-4

Nov. 13 Ole Miss Loss 31-27 Brandon Bolden goes McCluster on us. I hate to have us losing this game especially since we beat Florida, but we got juiced for that win and with other losses this season it has really deflated us at this point. POTG Bolden 5-5

Nov. 20 at Vanderbilt WIN 42-9 so many struggles for them. POTG Poole 6-5

Nov. 27 Kentucky WIN 38-17 good strong finish to the season for us. G. Jones 7-5

Well, UTM didn't score as many as I thought...

We couldn't score as much as I thought we would against Oregon, but I don't think I did to bad considering I had not seen a single game yet

9-3

Bowl win in the Outback vs an overrated Big 10 team like Wisconsin or Penn State....

Dooley will be carried around Knoxville in a sedan chair for months after this season winds up!

Never mind..... There's a reason I don't gamble...

7-5 and a trip to a minor bowl game. alot of this depends on if ut doesn't get their spirits down after a 2-5 start. it could easily be a losing season. i view south carolina and ole miss as tossups but i'll give us the benefit of the doubt.

so far i've gotten all of them. i'm beginning to think i was way too optimistic about oct 30-nov 27, though.

ok, i am not nostradamus (actually i am).....but i am going to try to reason out the most likely outcome for this upcoming football season.
Please let me know what your prediction is.....i'm sure someone will be right.......

Prediction 7-6

sep. 4 tennessee martin - win
sep. 11 oregon
sep. 18 florida
sep. 25 uab - win
oct. 2 at lsu
oct. 9 at georgia
oct. 23 alabama
oct. 30 at south carolina
nov. 6 at memphis - win
nov. 13 ole miss - win
nov. 20 at vanderbilt - win
nov. 27 kentucky - win

at end of season - 6-6, bowl eligible, we win our bowl and finish 7-6, the same record as last year!!! :eek:lol:

If we can beat 4 terrible teams (uab, memphis, ut-martin, and vandy), one semi-bad team (ky), and one semi-good win (ole piss, lamecox, UGA, oregano, etc.) then we will be good......so, unless this season is a total disaster, then we should be bowling........

And then we will build from there........

3-9 season
