Official 2010 Football Season Prediction Thread

completely missed it. i'm inclined to agree with Tony Barnhardt....and I quote....

FIVE NEW COACHES WHO WILL STRUGGLE

1. Derek Dooley, Tennessee: Dooley inherited a bad situation that has gotten progressively worse with injuries and other issues. The schedule is brutal. Five wins would be a very good season.

now, one of those 5 could be a victory over GA. but with our new defense and our kicking game i'd be surprised if it came to be. i expect Richt and staff to be very prepared for this contest. even more so after last years loss. but i do understand the volnation's confidence considering the last 4 years.

Florida has nearly '70" freshmen and sophomores. I wouldn't pencil in the gators playing for the SEC just yet.

Coaches on the hot seat; new coaches who will succeed, struggle | Mr. College Football

I would pick florida, but if anyone knocks them off it would be georgia this season.

I will say that for the forseeable future, the days of losing to florida and getting to atlanta are over.

You want to make the SEC title game, you better beat florida

As for 70 fresh and sophs.....you aren't counting properly. We have 85 true freshman

should make for an interesting season. urban has had some talented experienced teams. this year not so much.(experience) not a slight here but we'll all really get to see how good of a coach he is in 2010 with such a youthful squad. more transition in gainesville (coaching/players) than in athens.

i just think the gators are a little overrated @ #4 with all the questions.

7-5

Tennessee Martin - W - Nice warm up, chance to work on fundamentals and get the kinks out
Oregon - L - OK, you can't expect a Duck to pick against Oregon. Personally I expect a close game.
Florida - L - Love to see you guys beat the lizards at home. It's possible.
UAB - W - Given, but they almost beat Oklahoma a couple years ago so don't get too confident. Got to play the game before it's a W
LSU - W - I think you guys win this one. Crowton is a horrible under achiever as offensive coordinator for LSU and I think by this late in the season, Wilcox will have the defense playing very well and you put a whuppin on them on the road.
Georgia -L - Who knows? Still got to go with GA when they are at home
Alabama -L - Assuming everyone is right, it's hard to beat the #1 team in the country on any field
S. Carolina - W - Yea it's a road game but it's the gcocks and they seem to be a hit and miss kind of team
Memphis - W - You've got this one
Mississippi - L - I think Miss will surprise a lot of people this year. They are my SEC dark horse, although they may not be a big dark horse.
Vandy - W - It's Vandy, nuff said
Kentucky - W - Not really familiar with what's going on at Kentucky, but with former Duck Brooks gone, I sort of quit following them. Still like Tenn in this one.

So that's 7-5
Hope you don't mind a Ducks opinion.

We stay healthy 8-4
We have some injuries from key players 6-6
We lose a starter or two to injury (especially Dline) 5-7

No way we lose 8 games, though.

UT Martin - W Of course
Oregon -W I'll be there, chalk it up on the win side
Florida - L May be 2012 before we have a real shot at this one
UAB - W Surely
LSU - L Tough to get out of there with a win
Georgia - L No real reason just a hunch
Alabama - L We can all dream
South Carolina - W Consistent underachievers
Memphis - W I'll be there, chalk it up
Ole Miss - W Paybacks a mother
Vandy - W But those kids sure are smart
Kentucky - W You have to ask, really

8-4.

go big or stay at home!!!! lol better than most predict i think tho. 9-10 wins this year. i am unable to publicly say which teams will beat the vols as my orange blood will not allow it. i was at tuscaloosa last year,YouTube - VID 00002, and NOBODY gave the vols a shot in that game either. 3 missed fg's , anyway, i EXPECTED to win that day, and i EXPECT the BIG ORANGE to WIN EVERY SATURDAY!!!!!! GO VOLS!!!!!

and ill be at oregon, florida, and alabama games this year as WE kik some ass!!!!!

Only could wish this does happen to shut up all the UNC fans saying we are afraid to play them. Would be classic if we played them in a bowl game and beat them.

I can't believe someone would criticise Tenn for OOC scheduling. From a PAC-10 perspective, you guys probably have played half the SEC vs PAC-10 games in recent history. You're willing to travel and you get credit for that.

Can't wait for game day!!!!!!!!!!

Best case 7-5 This would be a good year for Dooley
Worst case 5-7

8-4 and I'll see you in Tampa for the Outback Bowl as Florida defends the SEC's national title claim, Alabama defends the Sugar Bowl title, and LSU sneaks by Auburn to play in the Capital one Bowl!
