Official 2010 Football Season Prediction Thread

On paper this team looks like it will be lucky to go 6-6, but I got a hunch the young bunch is gonna pull of the miracle and hit 8 wins. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

GO VOLS !!!

With just a little luck on our side last year, we beat bama, ucla, auburn, maaaybe even fl. A little less luck, and we don't have a BCS championship tho.. I think we r due for more

If I'm gonna make a guess I'll say 7-6......but I did just make a bet with 3 idiot Martin fans that Tennessee beats Martin by more than 20 bucks...100 dollars on each of them....sounds like easy money to me

If we win by exactly 20 bucks, who wins the push?

Scenario 1: Beat Oregon / Scenario 2: Lose Oregon

@South Carolina- W / L
@Memphis- W
Ole Miss- L

A tale of two seasons. Beat Oregon and there is a lot of belief / confidence during one of the most brutal stretches in recent memory. Lose, and the brutalness weighs physically and mentally on the Vols. Although in a position for Music City Bowl, simply cannot win four in a row afterwards. Ole Miss is the most disappointing loss of the season in both scenarios.

2 classic comments on this thread -- (1) Bama was not that good last year, and (2) Vols are "stacked" on defense. :rolleyes:

Sorry guys, 4-8. Home I'm wrong by a few games.

Just went through game by game and came out with 9-3. Didn't think I was that optimistic. Hope I'm right! (or wrong if we can win more of course)

5-7 or possibly 4-8 if we have a lot of injuries along the way. We just aren't at a point right now to hope to compete with many SEC teams.

It's still amazing how Vol fans still think Pac-10 teams are always "overrated" and "soft" after getting beat the last three years by mediocre pac-10 teams.

Changing my summer prediction after the DL injuries. 6-6, wins a low tier bowl game, 7-6 on the year.

Post your predictions here so we can look back at the end of the season and see who is qualified to say, 'I told you so'.

7-5 with losses to florida,bama, LSU,South Car, Georgia. Then a battle hardened vols squad beats clemson in the music city bowl.

I have the vols picked going 8-4. That being said I see 5 toss up games in the schedule... Oregon, Georgia, USCjr, Ole Miss, and Kentucky. I think any of those games can go either way, probably having alot to do with injuries. Any injuries to the O or D line, due to our lack of depth at these positions, and our season pretty much goes south. That along with the play of Simms will determine how our season goes.

Or the egg you layed against ky either?

spoken by the fan whose team is 7-9 in conference play the last two seasons.

but now that you mentioned it....i was there to witness the 3 TO's in the 2nd half. still our defense did us no favors.

it's part of a joke that you must have missed.

check the "reasons we'll whip georgia's ass" thread.

completely missed it. i'm inclined to agree with Tony Barnhardt....and I quote....

FIVE NEW COACHES WHO WILL STRUGGLE

1. Derek Dooley, Tennessee: Dooley inherited a bad situation that has gotten progressively worse with injuries and other issues. The schedule is brutal. Five wins would be a very good season.

now, one of those 5 could be a victory over GA. but with our new defense and our kicking game i'd be surprised if it came to be. i expect Richt and staff to be very prepared for this contest. even more so after last years loss. but i do understand the volnation's confidence considering the last 4 years. i think most are clinging to that "the best team doesn't always win concept" and rightly so in this case. imo, that all changes this year.

Florida has nearly '70" freshmen and sophomores. I wouldn't pencil in the gators playing for the SEC just yet.

7-5 Music City Bowl appearance....sadly this is my most optimistic prediction that is somewhat rational.
