We need to get on with this so offer Patterson or Pederson $6 Million or $7 Million per year and get this over with.

We need a good HC/Recruiter and a solid staff of good coaches/recruiters NOW!

Get them hired and to work recruiting ASAP!

Dude you don't get it do you? We are TOXIC, no one worth anything is coming here now. No one.

Though that's Curries fault not fan base. Toxic and laughing stock because of unaware and out of touch AD with his fan base...regardless of how candidates feel about Schiano there's no way we are getting top shelf now. Fulmer chances getting greater by he hour.

Patterson: Tennessee (John Currie) passed him up when he wanted the job for Lane Kiffin. He’s not coming.

Petersen: Not going to risk his rep

Chad Morris might take a swing

The fact that we are apparently moving towards Brohm and Martin should show how screwed we are with this coaching search. And there's a good chance we don't even get one of them.

Enough $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ will speak loud enough.

Also offer a 6 year or 7 year contract for time to turn it all around for the next HC job security and go hard after them.

After our joke of a AD pulled off his garbage yesterday LOTS of $$$$$$$$$$ is our best hope.

No you are wrong. The fan base will also get part of the blame and well deserved.

Exactly, Throw a bunch of $$$$$ at the problem. This is one scenario that it will actually fix the problem!

I doubt anyone of note would take the job if we were down to Schiano.

And if Schiano really was Currie's first choice then we're behind everyone else in the coach search.

Add in yesterday's events and I'd bet we're looking at coach google accepting the job. Not sure any respected coach would want to take the risk. If they're happy at their job and making 3-4 mil per year I doubt they see the appeal of coming to Tennessee.

The only real hope is the next coach is successful and the Schiano mess will be forgotten. Espn would love to trash Tennessee if the next coach sucks or Schiano goes elsewhere and succeeds.

For those of you keeping score at home, GP signed a massive extension to his contract. Peterson does not have the stomach to come to the south and coach. Same as ole Chip, he's "scurred".

I do not care if GS goes somewhere else and succeeds. At least, he will not be on our home sideline coaching our team. ESPN sucks on the top feeders (like Finebaum). That is what they do. Have you tried to watch some of their "shows" lately, hard to not change the channel.

Used to love PTI, but those 2 are so politically correct, it is like watching the news.

Not sure that is that they are dumb, maybe misinformed but to call someone dumb shows your intellect is lacking.

Not misinformed he's been told many times keeps making same comment but yes my comment may have been wrong.
Been a tough 24 hours

Nope. Currie and whomever put forth Schiano should have vetted and known their customer. VN may get roasted, but they're not to blame for finally standing up and saying enough of the disfunctional behavior...Currie is 100% to blame, and there's no getting around that.

And what if it doesn't work out? Then we're hamstrung for years and years with a bad coach we can't afford to fire. Your plan, idealistic as it may be, could literally destroy what little bit is left of our program. Chris Petersen has never coached in the southeast. He has no idea what it's like or what it takes. He could roll the whole conference, or he could be a colossal flop when he realizes how hard he has to work in recruiting.
