I think worley wishes he had more than 1 second to get rid of the ball. Hard to get in a rhythm and have good qb when you get drilled on every play.
Agree on that. Should have clarified a I was talking about once Worley graduates
He has played better than I expected
This offense needs to have someone that will keep it and Hirt a d w their legs though. You can tell it is stifling our run game to not have that threat
I'm probably gonna be flamed for saying this, but if we can't get a commit from a kid who can come in and elevate our OT play from day one, then I'm not sure I can consider this class a success.
We can upgrade all our other positions as much as we want, but our current OL is so bad that it pretty much negates all of the positive play from other positions. We have to find some true tackles so we can move Kerbyson and/or Thomas inside. Our current OL is starting NO TRUE OTs.
Sure, we'll get Blair next year and maybe Mosley plays OL, but currently of the 4 OL we have committed, the only one who projects as a true OT has a torn Achilles. We MUST find an upgrade at OT or I'm not sure we can see much progress in the win column next season.
there is not a high school OL in the country who can come in and be a significant upgrade. Experience is the one thing OL's have to have. The only kid who came in this year and is doing OK is Cameron Robinson at Alabama who was the top OL in the country and even he is average at this point at best.
I think Richmond could come in and be an upgrade at the tackle next year. Not saying would be all SEC as a freshman. You almost have to be trying to let the other guy win to get beat as much as Kerbyson and Thomas have this year.
Normally I would say 4 is plenty but our deficiencies on the OL are glaring. How many commitments do we have now? 25 or 26? I'm happy we got a good CB but OL should be priority number 1 right now. Out of 26 we should have at least 6 or 7 o- lineman. Dooley ignored OL recruiting and look at where we are now. Games are won in the trenches.

As inVOLuntary thinks - ulterior motive on the coaching staff's parts. Has to be. And I don't think it is working based on the O-line recruiting so far. Maybe it will. But I think it stinks that they would sacrifice a season, fan unrest, and several young men's playing time for a shot at landing a big fish on the O-line that they perceive will save the day. All so they can make Team #119 or Team #120 or Team #121, etc. the one that brings UT back to the top? My Vol fan card of 50+ years will be tossed by then if they keep going with this approach.
