I see improvement with essentially the same players. I'm not saying we are there by any means because we have PLENTY on work to do, but it's good to see that we are making progress.

We are making progress.

Biggest stat. 1-1 against 2 of our biggest rivals.

I'm hoping for 2-1

We are also ranked 28th in the country in total offense this year. Last year we were ranked in the hundreds in every offensive statistic. I see big time improvement, we just need to limit turnovers!

i still dont see why some vol fans were freaking out after a few losses. They made it out to be so much worse then it really was

Biggest standout there is TDs. We are averaging 32ppg this year, last year at this time we were averaging 17ppg.

Definitely getting better drives this year, no doubt.

I'm not saying the coaches haven't done a good job, but to be fair, the same players all getting a year more experience should mean they do better even without the coaching change.

Didn't really work out that way from 2004 to 2005.

Not the same players, WR's are not the same, RB's are not the same and the scheme is totally different. So yes you can say the coaches have done a good job.

You can't be serious?

It's a legitimate point when you think about it.

-New coaching staff

-For the most part, horrendous QB

-These losses were close and competitive. Who else can tout either of those qualities after playing UF?

We seemed to have found our footing, so we just need to see how the rest of the season goes.

True, the RB's are better than last year. And when did I say you couldn't say the coaches have done a good job? And the first post in the thread was the one that said the same players. If it was the same group of players, there should be at least some improvement no matter who is coaching.

It has improved a lot. The turnovers have masked just how much improvement has been made. As bad as it was last year, it had nowhere to go but up.
