Crompton played fine today, but the main problem with this offense is we have no passing game. Kudos to the offensive line and running backs for their performance today.

The problem as I see it is that we are one dimensional and our play calling has to be conservative because of limitations in the passing game. I thought the play calling was very good considering.

Thoughts?

The limitations in the offense is because of Cromptons inability to spot or hit any reciever in the vertical passing game.

Crompton did play well, but I ask you, what would his stats be if they did try to pass more? Crompton's good game is a result of the play calling that CLK was forced to make & he only called those plays because of our quarterback's limitations.

That being said, Crompton certainly could have made plenty more mistakes than he did. Kudos to him for making the most of the plays that CLK gave him. :rock:

I am quite happy with the result of the game considering who we were playing & the team CLK had to work with. Go Vols Go! :clapping:

Not really sure how Crompton looked "fine". His abilities are suffocating our offense

Crompton's first interception was horrible. His last one was something he had to do. Kudos to Lane for having the moxy to call the last play.

Crompton's decision to throw the ball into the stands was AWFULLLLLLLL. He could have had the first down if he had tucked it and run to the left. Lane really has to limit the guy because he is really really limited in the brains department.

I hate that we are that team. The team that when we have a chance to do something at the end of a half and sit on the ball. I understand we don't want to get down any further but damn be used to not be that kind of team!!!! To all those Crompton apologized, please he is killing us!!!

the people that were satisfied with crompton's gameplay today seriously need to reconsider their definiton as to what "fine" gameplay is. crompton was a player today who not only made several bad reads and throws, but also severely handicapped our offense. that's the farthest thing from "fine" in my book

How many times did Crompton throw more than 5 yards down field from the pocket? 4 or 5 times with 2 interceptions. That's horrendous. And his first pick Jones had destroyed Haden but he waited too long to throw it then underthrew him by 5 yards. The good thing about this game is it showed CLK figured out what CPF and Clawson learned late last year. You have a much better chance to win if you take the game out of Crompton's hands.

I really liked the way the O Line responded today. They showed a lot of guts.

As far as losses go, this was a good one.

That's my original point, because of our passing game we are too one dimensional. If we could have thrown the ball today, we would have beat them today. Yes, Crompton played OK, but the reason is we didn't let him throw the ball much and that's the problem with the offense. We know it, the coaches know it, and our opponents know it.

How many guys were open more than five yards downfield? I saw him at least look over two or three guys before throwing it away, and that is better than throwing into double and triple coverage. He did better today so give him a break!

I might as well say that Nick Stephens looked ok, because he didn't throw the ball either.

he played ok because the treated him like a jv high school qp. if you can't make the grade please leave.

Impressed with the coaches keeping us in the game and putting us in position to win even with the bad qb play. This staff is going to be fun to watch next few years.

The Offensive Line sure stepped it up from last week. The backs continue to run hard. We're just a passing game away. Go Vols.
