Offensive line will vastly improve under Pruitt. Details

We can build around Trey Smith, but the rest of the group is kinda shaky. An Oline generally takes more time to develop, not less, as compared to the other position groups.

I agree but only because it honestly couldn't get any worse. We need more talent. Trey Smith is a great piece but we need more studs.

The first year is going to see a lot of growing pains on the OLine, much the way Georgia experienced.

The positive is they all got experience last year.

OL no where to go but up. Coaching players to make them better at almost at every position was lacking during BJ's tenure.

Why does it take more time? I’m not football savvy so I genuinely don’t know why.

O line is an incredibly difficult position to play. Different techniques for rushing, passing, which direction is this play going, trying not to tip for hand as to the direction or type of play, avoiding false starts, all while trying to blocm future nfl pass rushers week in and out. It all as to become instinctual....which takes time.

In high school coaches will sometimes teach you to loom at the olines knuckles or fingers. If they were turning white, they were leaningon their hand, indicating a running play cause they will push forward. If they werent, it was likely a pass play, fingers would barely on the ground, cause they were about to stand for passing plays.

Good to know!

Ummmmm, Ive seen this line play. There is 1 outstanding OL. I truly havent seen another OLineman on the Roster that would crack the 2 deep at bama of UGA.. I appreciate the enthusiasm but the brute force, athleticism, or speed is not there.. The bad part is that will probably take 3 years or more to fix the entire unit.. Trey Smiths are very rare, normally takes 3 years of marinating in the weight room to be brutal violent SEC level OL..

The article makes some good points for a change.

Pruitt did get some O linemen signed so hopefully they'll learn fast and add some help.

It's rough when you work so hard to get a 4* signed and then he never lives up to his hype.

Hopefully Pruitt and Coach Friend will get it turned around.

Getting really good with good depth is still going to take a few years of great recruiting.

As long as I see solid improvement every year and consistent better and tougher play then I'll try to be patient.

I already believe we have several really good recruiters and we see they're going after the top recruits with no fear of other schools going after them too.

Setting their sights higher on better recruits is a solid 1st step.

Reel them in coaches!

VFL...GBO!!!

I believe the line will be improved due to better coaching, but dominant is an extreme stretch even for the most optimistic among us.

Just play with attitude and throgh the whistle... Jones wanted our OL TO BE MADE UP WITH nice guys

All I hope is at least some kind of improvement such as not giving up as many sacks.

However, using Tom Herman's words, you can't just "sprinkle magic fairy dust" and expect a magical improvement.

Significantly improving the OL and building depth is at least a 2 year rebuild.
