worries me to the extent that i know were losing am entire oline that is very good. yes theyve underachieved...buf, some of that has to be a new system. someone said the other day that lack of pass blocking wrs really hurts our run game. not sure if thats accurate or not?

Most everybody that truly understands football knows that this O-line has potential, but never recognized their potential. Nothing unusual about that, especially at UT of late. Good luck to them at the next level. But will be glad to see new guys step up and play that fit the system and perhaps have more heart.

When you zone block for years and completely change your system it has to have some affect imo

I enjoyed the article. My concern is when the NFL scouts watch the tape. They have the measurables, but for some reason they just don't play up to their potential or they aren't coached up to their potential.

The WRs not blocking hurting the run game, that's secondary and tertiary stuff. WRs really don't block anyway, they just have to get in the way, prevent DBs from taking angles if, GOD forbid, one of our RBs actually broke a run into the secondary.

The primary reason we haven't run the ball well the last couple weeks and against the better competition we've played overall is the lack of attitude and "nasty" our OL has shown. Kinda like McCullers on the DL.

They all have the strength and size and they're all being well coached by an OL line coach who has skins on the wall by having shown he can put lesser talented kids in the NFL. Pass blocking, which is what this OL has shown themselves to be pretty good at, is technique. Run blocking is very little technique and a whole lotta "want to" and nasty attitude. That's the problem IMHO.

It is obvious....and not hard to see that these kids were dumbed down by Dooley's style of coaching winning....or lack there of. So they never learned how to give extra effort and fight IMHO....they just learned to go through the motions.

Granted, it is a different type of offense, but I wonder how these boys would be if Sam Pittman were still here coaching. I though he was the best coach we lost last year.

Tiny should stay for another year of S&C and coaching before making the leap. I see his draft stock slipping as far as 3rd round or more since the SC game. Next year he would be a top 5.

Besides, Tiny, Jackson and Wiesman would be a nice start for the O-line.

For 2 years all I have heard is how good the OL is I know the talent is there, seems like we don't play up to our ability sometimes I wish we would line up the old fashion way with QB behind center and just hand the ball off and just run the ball right at them, I hate it on 3rd and 1 and we are in the spread with that big OL.

I wish he would stay plus I think it would help him, but the almighty GREEN will sway him and you cant blame him.:)

I think should just line them up today and run the ball all three downs. We have Dobbs who can run, put Lane and Neal in there and maybe even Hill and see what they can do. Our only hope to win this Auburn game is the keep the ball away from their offense. We need the OL to play one super game today.

Thanks. Best OLine ever at UT? Hmmm,....not so fast my friend! Anyone else not overly worried about these guys passing the baton at the end of the season?

Our next line won't be as physically talented, but will be a better overall unit...And fully experienced in Mahoney's scheme (can't do it in one off-season)...we ok :eek:k:
