Just heard on the radio, the Oline has given up fewer sacks then any other team in the nation they are playing well.

Lucas Taylor is leading the SEC in yds/game for a receiver.

It is hard to argue that the OL is a unit that is imporving from week to week. They have protected Ainge well all year....the numbers don't lie.

In a world where perception is reality, what fans still need is an explanation as to how they could have four plays to score from the Cal 3 yard line, and fail to get into the endzone.

keep in mind that Ainge hasn't had to sit in the pocket for more than 3 seconds on any play. We run quick slants and curls that take about a second and a half to develop.

Also keep in mind we probably pass the ball more than the average team as well. I'd say #1 in the SEC passing stats back that up.

Kudos to the line for their marked improvement as the year has gone by.

Oh thats all we run?

What about the crossing routes and fades? He's definatly stood in there longer than that on many plays.

he has also been very good about getting rid of the ball when no one is open. Better to put it into the stands than take a sack or force it.

Ainge is a great college QB, and his abilities have combined with decent enough O-line play on passing plays to minimize the sacks. I think a good chunk of it is Ainge's ability to go through his progessions so quickly to find and zoom the ball to the open man.

The only sack that Ainge has had was the fumble against Cal. The other sack we gave up was against Southern Miss when Crompton came in late.

So our starter has only been sacked one time all year. And that was like the third play of the year.

AMAZING.

Even when EA was a true frosh. he rarely got sacked. He knows how to get rid of the ball.

I know EA gets rid of the ball pretty quick, but when we watch the game, there arent mcuh QB hurries which gives credit to OL... may be its because of our quick short routes.... i rem this play where there was a perfectly timed blitz and EA just flipped the ball to creer and creer wasnt ready and fell over the ball.. EA is good and has a good OL to support him

If I remember correctly, our play calling let us down there too.

Ainge did not even have to have his uniform washed after the Miss State game...They just showed the top 6 or 7 QB's for draft next year on MNF and EA was not one of them....If I were on the playground picking I would pick him....

EA is solid. I still think he goes 3rd or 4th round at the earliest. I think he will be a very good NFL QB though. His game control and getting the ball out quick is invaluable in the bigs.

Agreed, I saw that list. Ryan, Woodson, and Brohm above Ainge is understandable. Henne and Brennan, no way.
