Offensive film breakdown: spring game, big difference from 2017

12 is one back two tight ends... It's a personnel package
So the first number is the amount of backs in the game and the second number is the amount of tight ends in the game.

Also, to give a scenario in which it matters schemtically... Let's say they have an H-back in the game. So the defensive coach will decide whether to count it as 20 or 11 personnel. The reason it matters is because teams intentions with an H back can be very different. And you match personnel so if they have 11 you don't want your 3-4 defense out there.

I enjoyed the write up. Just hoping to see an offense that shows promise, specifically one that can move the ball and even score on teams that matter. That would be teams like Alabama, Georgia, Auburn, etc. last year it was something like 41-0 and 45-7 against Georgia and Bama respectively.

Was always skeptical about CBJ's offense which I don't think can win consistently in the SEC. If he ever comes back into the P5 he better ditch most/all of it and find an O coordinator that has a proven system.

Anyway hoping to see some positives from the O this year and will be paying attention when we play the stronger teams.

Everybody has a good scheme until they get puncherd in the face. I'll reserve thoughts until games start being played.

That is the biggest difference to me. Instead of trying to misdirect and finesse folks. This scheme seems to be set up to hit them in the mouth. Will be interesting to see what happens with it. Seeing the TE/HB get up field will be a refreshing sight.

I am incredibly excited about the return of the I-Formation with Pope at fullback! When is the last time we lined up in one? Under Kiffin? Pope will add a completely new dimension to this offense as a receiver and playmaker (can you say play-action). I fairly psyched about this, and hoping he plays like some of the greats before him like Amsler, Byson, Careathers, etc!
