Offensive - For me it had to be the long ball from Dobbs to Malone against Kentucky!
Defensive - Jalen Reeves-Maybin recovering the fumble against South Carolina. Close second for me is Brian Randolph crushing Pharoh Cooper.

I did this thread last year, and now feel obligated to add special teams play, and boy do we have a lot to pick from.

Special Teams - Arkansas game opening kickoff!

Offensive -- TD pass to Josh Smith on 4th down of the UGA game. Completely turned the tide.

Defensive -- JRM fumble recovery against SCar for sure.

Special Teams -- Berry's kickoff return against Western Carolina where he was dead to rights at least twice.

The BEST offensive play of the season was the trick TD to Dobbs in the Florida game. No others compare. If we had won that game like we should have that would be looked back as one of the best plays in UT history.

Defensively I'm going with Randolph's knock down at end of UGA game. We had to win that game and that was the play that put itnin the W column officially.

Special Teams was Berry's return against UK. They were still hanging around until that dagger.

Offensive play of the year has to be the 4th down TD pass to Josh Smith. That seemed to be the turning point for the 2nd half of the season.

The offense's play of the year did not happen. That would have been Hurd's TD on 4th down against Oklahoma which would have signaled a team/staff ready to win.

The defense centered on the SC fumble.

Special teams had too many to pick one ... Daniel's punt, a Berry return, a Sutton return ... pick one.

I'm going to take mine as the most enjoyable / well executed POTY.

Offense: Jalen Hurd's 4th Quarter TD against Bama. It was a thing of beauty, and very well blocked. At the time I thought "Well this isn't supposed to happen!"

(Josh Smith's 4th and 14 TD against Georgia would be #1 if I ranked it by importance.)

Defense: Darrin Kirkland's Interception against Kentucky. Looked like he has watched his film for the week. He should've scored tho :).

(Importance would put that fumble recovery against South Carolina at #1)

Special Teams:

Evan Berry's opening kickoff return vs Arkansas.

(Importance would be Trevor Daniel's 4th qtr punt against Georgia.)

Offense - Josh Smith 4th down touchdown vs. Georgia. Any other answer is wrong. Without that play, Tennessee almost certainly loses and the season spirals out of control. Butch comes under more heat than he could possibly imagine. 8-4 would've then been impossible without a Bama upset.

Our perception of the rebuild changed dramatically with the victory over UGA and their subsequent performance against Alabama. It doesn't happen without that clutch play on 4th down.

Defense - JRM fumble vs. South Carolina. Another opportunity to blow a late lead against a team we should've beaten, but a playmaker made a play when it had to be made. Sure, it was USC, but that's a play teams from the last five years would not have made.

O - This

D - Jakob Johnson's strip on the UGA return. Well, maybe that's ST, but still.

The combo turned the tide and Dawg stomachs
