Offensive coordinator search thread

This was already answered. They didn't prohibit it, they just asked not to. The one year penalty he had has expired because he already served it. It is no longer an issue.

Never. Gonna. Happen.

Makes far too much sense, but someone will be offended, or will feel challenged, or will have "issues', or will just quietly kill it.

We will either promote Friend, or hire a position coach most of us will have to Google. It's just the Tennessee way.

So much wrong here. So much that you'll never fess up to. It's all good. I'm done. You think Schiano is a crappy coach, so latching onto he said, she said arguments to tear him further down is easy. You think Freeze is a great coach, so he can call hookers and get second and third chances. It's fine.
You seriously don't see any difference in paying an escort and looking the other way while children are being raped?? Not that I condone either one, but comparing Schiano to Freeze is ridiculous.

This is how this would work with Freeze. He comes and the offense improves greatly under his guidance. (Good for the Vols). He gets hired away as a HC at another school and UT is looking, once again, for an OC. Lack of continuity is killing this team.

Yes, sounds like a troubling scenario.🙂

I mean except if you believe Schiano knew about it, the story is that he did report it. Schiano denies knowing. But yeah, paying for women is ok as long as you're a good coach. That's the lesson here.

So you have a bigger problem with Schiano being judged more than you have a problem with people giving Freeze a pass? Or am I reading you wrong?

Sanders is an interesting name thrown in the mix. Were Pruitt and him both at FSU for the NC? Yes I am fully aware he was the OC and let go for underwhelming offenses during his tenure. Although he did fairly well everywhere else he went after us. So maybe it wasn't all him.

So IDK if this has been asked or not, but with the early signing period in a few weeks, do we think Pruitt will try and get someone soon or wait till after the early signing period?

Escorts say it is okay regardless if you are a good coach or not.

You joke w blue font. But, I'm seriously hearing rumors about local property and his wife's history at UT may have him take a closer look at it. I will be watching to see what accent colors he wears next Sunday. This might have legs.

On an even more serious note ... You really need to get an avatar for your account. The V in your screenname shows up in Black with a gold background. Brings flashbacks of fear and trembling.

What sort of timetable are we working under? Is it better to act early for recruiting purposes or wait and make a marginally, if at all, better hire?

Freeze beat Bama twice and has ties to Tennessee. What other candidate's resume compares to that achievement?

Coach Pruitt is secure enough in his own ability as coach to not feel threatened.

Coach Fulmer knows the value of a second chance.

Bev Davenport who reportedly tried to block him in the past isn't here anymore.

He already served his suspension.

And that is Hugh Freeze. Absolutely no reason to interview anyone else.

His system works and Pruitt would have him on a tight leash.

Do the right thing Pruitt.
I will say this, Freeze had the best offense that money could buy. However, he paid a big price when his actions were confirmed by the NCAA.

If we're trying to get an NFL guy, we have to wait. If we're not going that route, the sooner the better. The early signing period starts in 3 and 1/2 weeks. If this year follows last year's precedent, the lion's share of top talent will sign an LOI on December 18. If we want a shot at getting our share on the offensive side of the ball, we have to be able to tell prospects who their coordinator will be. Plus, we're not the only program in hiring mode.

Of course he isn't.

Man, the let down here is going to be brutal. Pruitt is either going to promote from within or hire someone like Dan Enos.
Give the man a chance my dude! I really Saw some improvement in our D last year- the last 2 games(which I dont understand) but I think he wants to win and he’s probably the one that put this in motion. Maybe we get an elite hire! There are plenty of Great candidates out there.

I personally don't care if Freeze is banging escorts two at a time at halftime if he can coach- but I honestly don't know that he can. I know he can win if he CHEATS CONSTANTLY, but c'mon, it feels like the compliance people live on our campus. We would never get away with anything remotely close to what he did.
