Then you have either intentionally or unintentionally missed the tidbits here and there or you've been reading with your eyes closed.

That's BS. All I heard was rocketman this, rocketman that and many who disagreed was called racist. You might want to open your eyes.

ah, the read-option, just what I had hoped to hear in this thread.

How did that offense do for Auburn in the National Championship game? Oh yeah, that's right, it LOST to a drop back passer with Randy Sanders coaching.

Oh, and Nick Marshall is better than any of the 4 Tennessee QB we have, so I suspect we won't have even remotely their success.

What? You mean that because they lost by 3 points it doesn't work? They still made it to the Nat. Champ... Also, if I remember correctly almost all of FSU's points were in the 4th which is clearly an issue with AU's D...

yeah i am really confused how losing in a natnl title game is a referendum on a style of offense - mind=blown

Marshall has only thrown for over two hundred yards five times in his career. He's 59 percent passing in his career. He's an athlete playing quarterback. Contrary to what you may think I'll take Dobbs or Fergie with a year in this system over an athlete who can't hit the broad side of a barn. I'll take CBJ's eval of our QB's over Nick. I'll take the playmakers we have coming in over Auburns any day of the week. Now I may be alone in my thinking of our QB's and our talent but something tells me I'm not. Auburn went to the NC and that's great, but they came home with a loss. Why? He can't throw the damn ball. GBO every day all day!

Good post. To add to this...Worley's career CMP is 58.7%. Marshall only threw for 200 more yards in 2013, despite playing a full schedule plus two more games.

What will we run? We're weak at QB, so the Read-Option won't work this year just like it didn't last year. We're strong at WR, and RB.. But we might not have a QB to get it to the WR consistently.

Basically.. Will we see a Running game similar to 2009, or try to be efficient in both areas?

A stronger receiving corps will help the QB out considerably. We should have this next year. Also expect big contributions from Hurd and some other freshman who are early enrollees on offense. We may be better off than expected. We were really hurting at receiver last year. Joe Montana may have struggled.

We'll run the zone read, every year.

Were gonna run the read option. That's what we saw last year, and that's what we'll see this year.

PS. The read option will work a lot better with Fergie slinging TDs to Pearson, North, and Malone. Boom.

Fergie will be better because he is second string and the second string QB is always the fan favorite over the starting QB until he is actually the starting QB.

Too many factors to start prognosticating. Worley is a senior who fought hard and could pull a Crompton with playmakers in place. Very few playmakers last year. Some newbies who can have an impact year 1. Dobbs with actual experience under his belt. For Fergie to win the starting job the way I see will have to be considerably better than the other 2. Coaches are measured in their decision making and will go with the safest bet unless the other option given to them is obviously the best choice hands down. And right now the safest bet may be a senior QB with leadership experience and another QB with game experience. Just don't want you to be disappointed when Fergie is listed as #2 or #3 on the depth chart. But in the end of the day I hope 1 of the 3 steps up and is heads and shoulders above the other 2.

One more thing, an 18 year old kid can develop quite a bit from 1 year to the next and cannot fully predict which one of these is going to develop faster.

They're open, after all responding to your posts indicates I saw them, doesn't it? :)

Don't know how you put racism into our exchange. To me Worley is a QB. Dobbs is a QB. Ferguson is a QB. Specifically all three are Volunteer QBs. That's quarterback, not quantum bull**** just to be clear. :hi:
