I would love to see Hurd beside Dobbs in the backfield on every play and run Karmara in motion and have the Defense looking for a Jet sweep, Hurd dive, or Dobbs keeper on every play. Would keep them honest all day and help the pass blocking. With Kamara's hands, he would also help when passing from this look.

"I...personally...LIKE that idea..."

I have an idea: throw out the playbook and install a system that works. Might consider teaching the OL a new blocking scheme, as well.

I'd like to see Hurd run out of the I from time to time.

Hurd needs a fullback in front to open a hole. When he is in open field he breaks tackles and makes it look easy. Why a coach can't see give him a fullback and get away from this read option stuff is unbelievable.

Hurd would already be our all time leading rusher if we ran some I. He could wear Defenses out running down hill with a lead blocker. Dobbs could flourish on the play action bootleg to. It's fun to dream but it isn't going to happen.

I'd like to see us under center when inside the 5 yard line but hey - my ideas don't seem to be reaching the coach. Maybe you can help?

AMEN!

Coach Lyle A Jones and his handmaiden offensive coordinator/Olympic swimming coordinator refuse to move forward. This is not the MAC or Sunbelt. In the SEC you must move the ball on the ground to open up the lanes. Enough of the damned gimmicks!

Lyle tried to teach 100000 how to cheer for a first down but forgot to coach his 85 on making first downs. I think he sticks with DeBord because he's afraid a real coach would end up in the HFC role. What he misses is that if he doesn't do something the HFC role will open anyway!

There are more wide receivers on the roster than OL. There is no real fullback. That alone shows his commitment to being stubborn. Maybe a WR can move to corner with the injuries.

There is NO excuse for failing to improve unless you are perfect. He isn't.

GO BIG ORANGE!

Few things that we did last year and amnesia Debord forgot or waiting for Florida...

Let Dobbs run like a mad dog... Let him loose... Our offense is exciting when this happens.

Roll the pocket. We did that when we had OL issues in the past and had decent success.

Run out of I. We did some against NW last year.

Burn the play book we had thus far in the season.

I think Jennings will throw one this game. A timely trick play.

At this rate, we're going to have two senior returning running backs. "I" formation, with QB under center would seem to be a no brainer. May be saving it for this week, but as well as it worked in the bowl game, I'd be surprised if we don't see it. Our regression with Debord and everyone on offense, except Malone, has me thinking it won't happen.

We don't have a FB on roster. Maybe bring Wolf in motion and line him up?

There is no irony lost that 10 years ago this site was whining about always running out of the I formation and now we are begging for it back

Maybe this zone read option attack that most everyone is running is just a fad like the run and shoot of the 90s in the NFL. My hope is eventually everyone will go back to the power I with a fullback type sets and pocket passing QBs. Man I miss those days.

Who are the best teams?

What offense are they running?

Should tell you your answer.

I personally hope we demote debord to OL and get a competent OC. Most likely after a 9 - 3 season at best

The other issue besides not having a true FB is the fact that we really don't have a blocking tight end....Wolf seems soft (sorry Wolf) and Croom, though he has potential, is still a massive wideout as this point and more of a threat in the passing game than taking on LBs and DEs at the LOS.
