Is it just me, or does anyone else see no fire/passion/or swagger on the field today? Don't get me wrong, I don't think the guys have given up or are going through the motions, just no fire in their play right now. I think the week's events have hurt us.

If PUKE and two other freshmen cause a whole team to play poorly, there is something wrong. Just kind of shows what they are made of. Not too much if you ask me. Very poor effort AND lack of Defensive coaching. When you let one #22 dominate your whole team , you're just plain ole stupid.

I think it has nothing to do w/ the arrests. It's that Monte Kiffin cannot scheme a defense to stop these wildcat offenses. You can't beat speed. That is Monte's motto and Dexter is faster than anyone on the field.

It shifted the focus for the team, you can't deny that. We were focused on this game, coach O had the team fired up ready for this and then the arrests totally shifted the focus of the team - even for a day or two. Ole Miss didn't have any such thing happen to them - they've been waiting for this one.

If you honestly think this week's events didn't have some affect then you're extremely naive or just dumb.

Agreed!

But you can tell everything that happened Thursday has affected this team. All that rededication to Christ stuff that happened the other night is great, but I hope those guys see what their actions did for this team today.

We were maybe the hottest team in the country coming in then have something off the field happen.

I'm not trying to be negative, but this is the first game all year these guys have not looked fired up all game.

they should have rededicated to blocking and tackling instead

It is simply impossible for that not to have an effect on the team. Whether or not it is a big enough effect to lead us to look like we do today is debatable.

You are exactly right, we have been hot this past weeks and we come out in this game flat and not the same team and the incidence is no doubt a big influence to why we played so bad today.:banghead2:

Do you think it can linger? I think it depends on how long this situation lingers.

This experience by a handful of selfish morons has demoralized this team and they have played with no fire and no focus. I can only hope they will be able to get things together or we could have a very tough ending to the season.

You know that the kids have to be worried about the future of Edwards, Richardson, and Jackson. They are also likely embarrassed of the negative national attention. While it is entirely possible the events weren't related to this performance, the case can certainly be made.

WORST TOTAL TEAM PERFORMANCE OF THE YEAR!

THE ONE BRIGHT SPOT WAS PUNT AND KICKOFF COVERAGE

FIELD GOAL UNIT STILL NEEDS A LITTLE WORK:eek:lol:

From on field intensity to play calling. From lack of pursuit, keying and coverage this team "seemed" just to be going through the motions.

The reason I take this position is I just do not beleive Ole Miss is this much better than us. Failure to execute, tackle and concentration were easily the driving force in this game.

How much of this falls on the coaching staff is as always debatable. I did recognise the on field results.

Thoughts?

Yeah, I agree with the previous posts. What those 3 did brings everyones character into question and destroys moral.

According to Doug Matthews most of the players were more pissed of at these guys then worried about what is going to happen.

Got beat today by a team that came ready to play and had no answer for the Ole Miss game plan. Sometimes that happens.

Without question this team was affected ON the field today by what happened OFF the field. Ole Miss played inspired and they wanted it more.
