I'm looking for one player on each side of the ball. On offense, I think Luke Stocker should be Pre-Season All SEC, but it could turn out that Aaron Douglas is the most important returnee. On defense, if he can keep his head on straight, I think Dennis Rogan could be Pre-Season All SEC and will be our #1 corner and see very little, if any, time at safety. Janzen Jackson, IMO, is the better player, but Rogan improved the most and will be counted on to cover the Greens and Joneses of the SEC with minimal assistance. Now, I'm gonna hang up and let ya'll discuss.

A lot of players are going to have to grow up fast for the team to get where we want to be come seasons end..

Well the thing about our linebackers is that alot of players got a lot of playing time this yaer. I think the LB corps will be a strong suit for the defense next year.

Montori Hughes is someone to look out for next season, Chris Walker has to be a leader, J. Jackson should improve drastically in a full offseason with this staff, Nick Stephens has to step up into a leadership role, and(obviously) our offensive line will be the key to our success.

Darren Myles needs to have a great offseason so he can fill in for Berry. Our linebackers also need to have a great offseason because they won't have an Eric Berry in the box all the time like he was this year. But the key on defense is Montori Hughes. It all starts up front, and if Montori can wreck things in the middle, it will open up big plays for everyone else. On offense, I think our o-line needs to play very well as a group for us to be successful, but I will take Nick Stephens being the most important piece. If he can play as good as Crompton did the last 2/3 of the season, we could have a decent year next year. We have to be able to stretch the field to open up lanes for Bryce next year. Even though we are losing some players this year, I think next year could be good just for the simple fact that it will be their second year in the system, which is huge. Instead of learning the whole spring, we will be fine tuning. HUGE difference.

They will also have a full offseason with Aaron Ausmus. That's huge

Honestly on offense, I think we will see a more dominant and more physically imposing Aaron Douglas with some time in S & C, and on defense Darren Myles Jr. certainly needs to step up and be a major player for us, and I think he seems to have his head on straight and will continue to improve as the "other" safety next to Janzen "Shazam" Jackson.

With the playing time they had this year, and IF they stay healthy and keep their heads on straight, the linebackers should be top notch. If they all progress equally, rotation should be no problem and that will keep fresh legs in at all times. Big plus there. No getting winded against a back like Williams or McCluster tearing it up.:good!:

I hope that since Ausmus will actually have a full offseason with the team, that all members of our offensive and defensive line will be more physically imposing. I agree with what you said

That's true, but hopefully we bring in some speedy 'backers that can contain the backs like McCluster

we need some jr and sr leaders that will step up! That said, the most vital players will be C. Walker, N. Reveiz, and D. Rogan.

Honestly, I couldn't be more excited to have Reveiz back on the field. He is very passionate about UT football

Agreed, I think our D has the potential to be top notch again. Walker, Hughes, Walls, Martin. Then Frazier, Reveiz, and Thompson with Lathers and King (who will be a beast) , and then Rogan, Evans, Jackson and ____!!! Because of injuries this year our LB's should be both talented and deep next year.

Amen to this post and your followup post. The offensive line is the KEY for next year. No QB and no RB will be successful next year if the offensive line doesn't mature quickly through the spring and summer.

Aaron Ausmus will be a hugh factor for both sides of the ball but especially the defense. We have the players to be good quickly if they can increase their speed and strength throughout the off season. They will still be young, but they should be faster and stronger. With a year of SEC battles under their belt, they ought to be more consistent to start and get better as the year progresses.

Since we begin the season with Oregon and Florida in the first three or four games, we'll know very quickly how far we have developed in the off season.

If Art Evans is on the playing field I will be discouraged. Do we really not have another cornerback who brings more to the table than Evans?

Janzen "Jack'em up" Jackson will have a breakout year. I think he'll be an All-American next year. That's as long as he keeps his head on straight.

Who will be in the DT rotation for UT next year? Aren't they pretty thin at that position?
