Of the 6 HC openings in the SEC...

I think people are comparing HCs but the real comparison should include staff. Who he surrounds himself with says more about the kind of leader he is and the kind of results he expects. I have no clue about any of the other staffs but just on experience and wins as a HC, Priuitt is last IMO. His staff could be the 3rd best in the SEC.

You canĀ’t really argue TAM won with a NC winner in Jimbo.

Mullen to FL is right fit for them. He is going to be a pain in our rear.

Despite being new as HC I think Pruitt and the SEC staff he is putting together are a strong 3rd place. Considering the total chit show the search was you have to feel good about how it turned out. If not for MullenĀ’s 7ish years as a HC at Miss St IĀ’m not so sure I wouldnĀ’t bump Pruitt up to #2.

I would put Ark with Chad Morris at #4.

Moorehead at Miss St #5

And Ole Miss is just holding serve until the NCAA blows over at #6

I could be way, way wrong but I don't think Mullen will be another Spurrier or Meyer for Florida. He will do well (maybe kick our ass if CJP is a flop) but I see them going through this process again in no less than 4-5 years. JMHO.

I really don't believe you can judge a coordinator to HC position at all at this time. There was an OC for a decent Maryland team that turned out to be James Franklin. You just don't ever know what you have at this point.

I think Jimbo is better than Mullen, but I really don't know. Mullen was at one of the worst schools in the country, Jimbo was at one of the best. Wouldn't be shocked at all if Mullen turns out to be better. Remember when we though Bret Bielema was a shoe in for good hire?

Bielema had one good year, the year Arkansas rotated onto our schedule. This doesn't count, since that is the case every single year for someone.

Post-title Jimbo is post-title Fulmer on steroids. Every year he didn't have Jameis Winston has ranged from slight underachievement to massive underachievement. I don't know if he flops, but he's not winning any SEC West titles.

Mullen is a bit unpredictable but IMO does indeed have a very high ceiling. With Florida's resources he could come up huge, but it wouldn't shock me if his success was more modest either. In other words, I'm undecided about the whole debate VN was having about him a few weeks ago.

Pruitt is extremely high risk, extremely high reward.

None of the other hires seem like they have that high of a ceiling.

With new hires in coaching in new places its never easy to say who is going to pan out . But the way you have it its pretty spot on IMO I am just not sold on Mullen kinda glad UT did not take him but would have took him over a lot others for sure its a wait and see now. I am excited about the UT hire and staff .

In 8 years at FSU:
4 Division Titles
3 ACC Titles
1 NC (another as OC LSU)
4 Top 10 finishes
70-23, 40-17 without the NC year
Almost every recruiting class top 5
Yeah, what a horrible hire. That's anybody's definition of great.

He has done a great job for sure we will see how good he is now Playing Bama , Auburn , LSU , every year.

Ever had this thought? If Fisher is THAT good, why did FSU suck this year? Just sayin'

Jimbo is gonna be in a strange place. Texas is not southern. Texas is Texas. And College Station is stranger still. I'm not so sure this is going to work. What this hire does is show the world A&M is serious bout stepping outa that big Longhorn shadow.

Pruitt may be born and raised in Bama but everything he has done and said so far speaks to the heart of a Volunteer. General Neyland is smiling.

Dan the Man. Don't step up, if you cant keep up! That's might be monster to slay.

The Razorbacks with the new HC/AD from Texas. Too much bacon and I love bacon!

I agree with the rankings, but with 1 and 2 head and shoulders above 3, 4, 5 and 6.

Pruitt is the best of the rest.

Then Mullen better get 2 Elite QB's on-campus consistently, because his offense is ran completely around his QB and if he goes down, The Dominoes start to fall. I won't even mention his record when facing another ranked team! Worst in rankings history

Dak Prescott and Nick Fitzgerald were far from elite coming out of high school

But if he does get an elite dual threat quarterback like Tebow or Newton he can win a title

The one catch with his quarterbacks tho he seems to prefer big guys 230lbs or so capable of taking hits
