Of Our Three star recruits.

I have heard that Coleman Thomas may get a bump and I don't know why Orlando Brown is not already one with his offer list.

It'd be great if they all got bumped to 4* but in the end does it really matter? I know it's exciting to have a highly ranked class but there's too much politics and way too many other things that factor into player rankings. Four to five years from now is when we'll know how many 3*'s, 4*'s, or 5*'s we really have in this class. They should show where classes were ranked in recruiting five years prior and then officially rerank them accordingly after busts, transfers, dismissals, etc. All these "experts" and their evals wouldn't look so great then. Sorry for the rant. JMO

Even with all the hate that will ensue, I will say it again. Let me preface by saying the biggest boom or bust recruit is Brown IMO. He has all the tools, but needs to be taught technique and discipline.

That being said, his offer list is full of non-committable offers. His offer list would still be solid, but the Bama's, Lsu's, UF's of the world would not have accepted his commitment. We did for the simple fact of his upside and our ability to sign over 30 guys. I honestly think he could be as good as Ju'Wuan one day if he works hard.

I'll trust Butch & company to eval & take any player he wants, no matter the offer list or commitable offers.

Same. It just needs to be known around here. People are always saying "y u no update Lando to fo staaaaaa?". It's simple, he hasn't been to recent camps, he won't get bumped on offers alone IMO because its known his offers aren't all commitable, etc.

Like I said, Orlando is one of my favorite recruits. His upside is unmatched by most, but people don't really understand how these recruiting sites work. It's politics. Has some to do with ability, some to do with upside, and a lot to do with how you handle things politically. Did Orlando assert himself to try to get that fourth star, no. I'm sure he doesn't give a single care about that or he'd have gone to camps. He's a Vol, he a solid commitment, and he has all the upside in the world.

These ranking threads get me all riled up sometimes. I feel as if people think if our guys don't get bumps sites "hate us" when in reality, the kids are enjoying themselves and not camping as they are all Vol. The one's that camp, that's cool too. It's awesome to see Henderson go out there and ball if that's what he wants to do.

The NFL has a lot of 3* players, those guys probably use the * system as a motivational factor. Makes 'em feel undervalued.

Dooley claimed that Saban doesn't recruit, they draft the best and everyone else fights for leftovers. ... Butch didn't get that message 😏

Look at NFL rosters and you will see quite a few guys from schools like Forham, SEMO, Lambuth, Tennessee State etc... Looked at nfl teams and noticed how many Cincinnati bearcat alumni there are. Impressive

Think you might be right. Since he is the biggest man (so far) in this class, those usually either boom or bust. Glad the S & C coaches are trimming linemen. Personally think that lessens injury risks, and benefits their future health.

We now have coaches who are good teachers. Mahoney will get him there on technique, and Jones will get his game discipline down.

Think he could be as good as Ju'Wuan. We certainly need him to.

Sorry, but in recruiting perception is also reality. There is a snowball effect. What's more, Rivals star rankings are about as good a prediction as you can get 4-5 years out for predicting future NFL draft crops.

Bring me 5-stars coveted by all. No more "diamonds in the rough" please.

Ones that have a chance: Henderson, Paulk, Brown, Lambert and maybe Bryant. Hurd gets a 5*. Kelly and Bates might get bumped up a little to but not 5*.
