Interesting. I'm no pro, but those half point make me feel that Vegas is trying to encourage action in one direction- people picking TAMU to win by a TD

Good. Right? I feel that's just motivation fuel for our team to get fired up and prove those odds wrong.

I remember the odds were 99.9% that Georgia would win at one point during the game just yesterday and less than half a dozen ticks of the clock later, the pendulum had swung just as far to the Tennessee side. Then it stayed there until the opponent had to turn off the scoreboard.

Well I was half right in the prediction thread. I thought they open as 10 point favorites and by game time it would be 6.5.

I know we all keep saying it, but these next 2 weeks we HAVE to play all 4 quarters.

Or maybe we don't. Maybe Jesus is a Vol this season. Heck of a season thus far.

Vegas lines are based primarily on the perception of how gamblers will bet.

Vegas wants the money gambled to be as even as possible. They live on the 10% 'juice' - not on the hopes that one team beats the line.

Show me one Vegas bookmaker that tries to favor one team over another by encouraging action in one direction, and I'll show you a soon-to-be broke bookmaker...

Hmmmm wee bit contradictory or the ol' blasphemous enigma wrapped inside of a riddle?

Damn! I can't believe that line.

Is that line assuming the Vols spot them yet another +17?

I believe it assumes we have at least 3 top players injured who won't be available and that we continue to play inconsistent football.

We haven't put together a game yet. If we do I think we win, if not, well, you know. But I am confident we will for the the first time this year. And if the guys stepping in at LB and CB perform we will win.

All of our lines have ended up being a combination of over-under and spread that can't actually happen in real life. I think it's just how they do it.

They are smarter than public perception and they take advantage. What was action in the Florida game? I think it was heavy Florida. Vegas cleaned up

Didn't mean it blasphemous or sacrilegious. I didn't really think about it that way, but it is kind of obvious now that you mention it. So if I've offended I apologize and will edit.

GOOD! Hopefully being the underdog helps us put a complete game together! It'll help that Hurd will likely have a big ole chip on his shoulder with something to prove this game as well.

GO VOLS!!!

If I'm A&M, I'd throw deep all game long. Our CB's have to step up or we are in big trouble. They've gotten exposed at will basically everytime they've been tested. I do think we can beat A&M but I'm very nervous about the deep ball and Knight can get it there.

That is true GB. For yesterday, the action was heavy Tennessee - 3.5. Vegas cleaned up again.

Funny how that works.
