I was at that game in 1990. UT had one of the best pass offenses in the nation with Andy Kelley, Carl Pickens, Anthony Morgan, etc... John Majors preceded to run the ball 50x and as we were lining up to kick the winning field goal, Alabama blocked our kick.....returned it to our side of the field and kicked the winning field goal. It was very difficult to swallow to say the least.

I can remember this game like it was yesterday. I was 12 and it was the first time my dad heard me use bad language......he looked at me and said you took the words right out of my mouth.

Also remember CBS interviewing Chuck Webb on the sidelines, he was out with a blown out knee, and he told the interviewer that it would be a different score if he was playing......and he was intense when he told them that.

That 1990 game was the worst of my TN history. What sweet revenge if we could return the favor.

Sad thing is, BAMAs 3 losses were by a combined 7 points to 3 pretty good teams. 27-24 Southern Miss(some guy named Favre was the QB), 17-16 at UGA, and 17-13 vs UF with the Ole Ball Coach just getting ready to turn the SEC on its ear. BAMA also lost their top 3 skill players in those 3 games. RB Siran Stacy in game one, WR Prince Wimbley in game 2, and WR Craig Sanderson in game 3. BAMA led in all 3 going late into the 4th quarter. Don't flatter yourself and your coach by comparing your coach to COACH STALLINGS. STALLINGS did things "old school" and that didn't jive in the NFL.

That was the Notre Dame game, not the Bama game, that same year when Webb made that comment. I still have the tape.

If one was to leave out 1992, it didn't jive to well in the NCAA either.

My husband and I were there. It was a beautiful October day to drive down to see the game. The number one and number two teams in the nation lost that day so we would have been #1 if we had only won. It was a total bummer !!:(

Also didn't jive at Texas A&M where he had a 27-45-1 record, turkey.:neener2:

We tied Colorado, which later won the National Championship. Later tied Auburn in the worse coached game in Majors's history.

Never been sicker than to see us blow a 26-8 lead in the 4th and to choke on the fg. This was Majors chance to win a title at UT. Webb's injury changed the dynamics of the season not having him in the 4th quarter of the games we narrowly lost and tied.
