That first quarter was pure Tennessee ORANGE! 21 - 7, bamas offense and defense were baffled. Yes, I’m watching it again, Hookers leadership made the difference in this game and all year long.

I’m really hoping Aguilar wins the QB battle and shows the same skills and leadership abilities as Hooker, after all, they both were transfers with experience.

GBO!

I wish our offense would flip back to the 2021 and 2022 offense. Hendon Hooker was a special player that made everyone better around him and the offense hum and run at maximum efficiency. He was our best QB since Manning. And he helped end the 15 year losing streak to Bummer so he’s forever a Vol legend in my eyes.

I agree with your sentiments, other than calling Hooker our greatest QB since Manning. I think that honor goes to Casey Clausen. He beat Bama 3 of 4 times (twice in Tuscaloosa) 2 and 2 vs Florida (both wins at Florida), 1 and 1 regular season against LSU (Lost the SEC championship in that weird LSU game). He never beat GA, much like Peyton couldn't beat Florida. He also took down Notre Dame, Michigan, Miami. His stats were almost on par with Manning. The "Iceman" was clutch most of the time. No one seems to put him up there.

The more time passes the more I realize it was the greatest game I've ever witnessed and I've been watching TN play since the 80s

That game gives me chills thinking about it.

When I see people clamoring for the 2022 offense, I get it, but to be fair, we should have beaten Alabama by three touchdowns last year. Nico missed four wide open shots.

Undoubtedly, Hooker was a special player, but I believe we will have more creative offenses when we have quarterbacks who are capable of making big plays.

The late 80's through the 90's are the golden age for most fans apparently. But clearly, Casey beat the rivals. A lot. The abomination was that LSU loss. Repeated missed touchdown passes in the first half and all of those fumbles in the second half gave that game to the Tigers. The play on the field that day just wasn't good enough to win. Other than us winning every game being my hope, I always wished we'd gotten that Miami matchup. We had an oline and dline that could compete. That's certainly gotta be up there for our worst loss when you consider what was at stake. Carolina 22 also comes to mind...

The Iceman was and still is a Vol Legend. He won the games and earned the title fair and square.
