Is a press conference necessary? Couldn't they just make the announcement?

unfair. Just because there is likely no announcement today- and even if it does not end up being Shannon - OCI can only report to us what he hears. For all we know, that was the plan and negotiations broke down or UT decided to delay the announcement for some reason. We've seen coaches "take the job" only to change his mind 24 hours later. No one can be right 100% of the time on predictions! Keep reporting OCI!

Press conference will have to happen without CDD...he in Texas at coaching convention.

I'd be willing to bet they do this AT the press conference. And then answer a bunch questions from media members. About how it affects recruiting, how the negotiations happened, how Dooley 'feels' about the hire... etc,etc.

What should they do, text us?

The only thing I'm confident in is that rumors a flying all of the place and 95% of VN posters have no idea what they're talking about (in regards to the DC search). :hi:

And then you have other people that say that they know for sure that it's not Shannon...Truth is no one knows for sure..let's just wait and see.:question::whistling:

IDK but with the quotes it has the feeling of a call-out thread.

As far as the question goes I'm interested on his take also. Dont think they'll announce till coach Dooley gets back tho.

Last week when dooley talked with the media did he not say that would try to do it again next Monday (today)? Anyone hear anything else since?
