That play was great all the way around...I was fine with pass placement and the catch...my question and im not downing JG.....its a tough throw...with the DB with inside position why are we throwing to inside shoulder, even johnson turned inside...shouldn't it have been shaded to the outside??? Just my thoughts....loved the play all around just looking a technique

The ball was shaded to the outside.

When JG released the ball, Brandon and his defender were at our own 40 yard line, and were, laterally, right on top of the numbers on the field. When the ball arrived, Brandon and the defender were 14 yards further downfield, at the USCe 46, and within a couple of yards of the sideline.

In other words, JG threw the ball to what would've been well outside Brandon's outside shoulder, but they faded outside a bit while running.

This QBing stuff ain't nearly as easy as we all like to think. JG's placement of the ball on that play was pretty darn exceptional.*

* and Brandon's catch was, of course, amazing.

Thank you. Been saying that for a couple days now. Glad there are others that know what the hell they’re looking at. It was all the way around a good football play.

As I’m sure you’re aware, it’s super easy to place a football anywhere you want it at 20/30 yards under duress and within a 2.5 second window.

Um yea its called accuracy...it can be done consistently......I wasnt ragging on the throw. I thought it was good...
I usually see plays like that the WR turn the other catching and falling out of bounds....ya know body away from defender not turning into the defender...
