OC Wish List/Not Claiming to Know anything

Thx for the correction. I knew something felt off about it when I was posting originally. I knew EB was running some powerful NFL offense with young players. I’ve edited the OP to reflect your correction. I agree with you that EB will get looks as NFL HC. UT OC would be an odd career choice, but it is a wish list. I still think Colorado should have given him an offer he could not refuse. Thx again.
Agree that he would have been a great fit for Colorado and made more sense. It’s pretty hard for NFL coaches to be able go to the NCAA in season due to a longer season and with the early signing period it makes it even more difficult.

Sark is trash. His Washington teams were mediocre and his USC teams underachieved. We all know about Atlanta.

I’m really hoping our OC is locked up and we haven’t announced because he’s still coaching. Basically, a college playoff team or NFL.

Kitchens isn't leaving the NFL to OC a rebuilding college team. He may not be with the Browns in 2019, but the job he's done since Jackson and Haley were let go is going to keep him in the league.

why worry about not having an OC? remember Butch's last season? we basically didn't have one the entire season! Before that, we had an OC who called the same 5 plays....

Frankly neither is an excuse in my opinion. I don't think our fans deserve being put on the back burner any longer.

Whoever we hire needs to get on the first plane to Knoxville and get his ass to work ASAP.

I get that from our fan perspective, but we were 5-7. Not a lot of leverage. All that matters is the end result being a great offense.

Actually, my wish list involves Mike Munchak for OLine coach. I wouldn't mind bumping Will Friend to OC if we had a HOF lineman coach. The trenches are the foundation for your offense/defense and we would be pulling in five stars year in and year out.

Most of the assistant coaches under Jones during his time at UT are having success with other programs. The assistants weren't the real problem. The problem was always Butch Jones. Shoop wasn't given control of the defense and the OC's were not given control of the offense. Jones really screwed the program up on many levels.

Everybody seems to want a very creative x&o guy. Let’s sling it around and out think our opponent.

I agree we need an OC that knows how to attack defenses. Let’s not forget that regardless what o you run execution is priority one. When Cut was here many people complained about the vanilla offense. The guy new how to go at the D but he was successful because he drilled the team on execution. Give me an OC that can run a 10 play drive without assignment busts and penalties. Catch the ball etc.

That is because you have to have someone like that who can come in here and work miracles with the terrible o line and QB. They have to be able to draw up plays that play to the very, very limited strengths and capabilities of the offense.

Kitchens has grown on me over time and the more I have seen on him. Seems to be a guy who can get creative when needed and we need that for sure!

Pruitt interviewed him. But I heard he kept getting distracted the whole time looking around to see if Leonard Little was still coming after him. Don't think it'll work out.
