1. He probably has no faith the right side can block. That would be because they can't.
2. He is on the sideline because Pruitt wants him there.
3. He will be the OC until Pruitt decides he wants someone else. Helton is not the problem with the Offense. We need a much better line. Should have help coming next year.
Thanks for that but my only hesitation with thinking this is immediate help is that they are young pups. So while we get much needed depth they still need to grow in the strength and conditioning program, get acclimated to college, and more accustomed to the SEC style. But it is much welcomed help at this point.Morris, Wanya
Wright, Darnell
Plus a couple of 4 stars
I wish he would try to throw more to open up the run game instead of stubbornly running on early downs when the running game is constantly losing yards. Our passing game is facing third and long way to often because of that. That's my main complaint about him.
I do. I think Pruitt and Helton want to be a run first offense, and I get that, but the offense has not shown they are capable. What they have shown is that they are capable in the passing game. Despite poor protection from the o-line, this offense is better at throwing the ball than running. They should lean on that more in early downs. Play to your strengths, make the defense commit more defenders to stopping the pass and maybe you find a little more room to run. Ole Miss leans on the passing game and their RB is quietly approaching 1000 yards on the season. I know it's a strategy that can backfire if you get a lot of three and outs, but at some point you have to roll the dice to try and get the offense going. They did it against Auburn and it paid off. With the lack depth, this team isn't really capable of grinding out a win or coming from behind against Kentucky or Missouri...maybe they could against Vandy. You honestly think he does this because he is stubborn? Also despite the consensus on this board this is not his first year as a coordinator. Come on gang, I know it's hard to, but this year is just what it is, with hopes of a bowl game to get the practice.
JG has converted A LOT of 3rd and long plays. They might be trying to get him in manageable down and distances with the run game...but most of the time the run game provides nothing. They are trying to get JG in third and manageable . When they do , he does well . I think passing down field leads to 2nd and 10 , if we are very very lucky
I agree for the most part. If healthy, Chandler should play the most with Jordan coming in to give him a break. I like the potential with Chandler and Jordan. London can provide a few snaps if needed. I like Banks' energy, but he's a threat to fumble at any time.using to many RBs every game -- use Chandler and be done with it
