Obvious Chancellor and President were hype men for Phil...

Pruitt will end up getting some type of settlement. He hired a well known law firm in Birmingham and I doubt UT will want this dragged into court.
I doubt it, did you not read the termination letter? They fired him FOR CAUSE, very cut and dry!

That was the most awkward press conference is ever seen. For one Randy Boyd is terrible. He was so nervous he could barely talk. And all that about how proud of fulmer he was etc was pathetically fake. So fake. That guy created this $hit show. Anyway, fulmer was really bad too. Every question he got you could see his wheels start turning. He wanted to say just the right thing so he’d sit there for forever trying to decide how to begin. He obviously didn’t want to say that recruiting has been great when asked about the state of the program today vs when they inherited it. Fulmer needed to go and he needs to stay the hell away forever. He never should’ve injected himself into that situation. He had no business at all making that hire.

Fulmer had to reach for something when asked about improvements Pruitt made. I could see his wheels turning.
W-L record? Nope
Competitiveness against rivals? Nope
Recruiting? Yeah, that’s it! Oh ****, can’t believe I just said that.

Fulmer feathered a nest for himself; a slob of a man who wanted to be financially comfortable as possible while keeping the coaching as marginal as possible.

I know the Gators had two NCAA violations and they fired a pair of coaches. UT has upwards of....30 violations. That's astounding.

Yeah, he'll get part of his buyout in exchange for an NDA. He's probably looking at a couple years of unemployment with a a show cause.

Fulmer's biggest mistake was the contract extension, I'm sure even he would own up to that if asked. He redeemed himself by getting Pruitt fired for cause. He was not involved with the violations and nothing would be gained by firing him and tarnishing his name.
Fulmer didn’t do jack sh*t about getting Pruitt fired for cause. It was all Plowman and Boyd.

In the press conference, Chancellor Plowman said that Pruitt was responsible for people he hired, both directly and indirectly. I wonder if she applies this same standard to herself.

Don't get me wrong... I am so glad that Pruitt is being replaced.
Who has she hired?

I didn't say she did. I am just wondering if she has applied and will continue to apply this same standard to herself with other university employees that she did hire directly or indirectly. So, if the new athletic director or coach commits ncaa violations, will she recommend that she get fired? Doubt it.

Also, admitting to Level I and II violations is not the smartest move. The NCAA has a difficult time proving anything, and now we certainly have potential for harsher penalties because of her very statement.
The NCAA was brought into it in December. Plowman admitting to violations yesterday provided no new information that the NCAA didn’t already know.

I didn't read through the entire thread but please tell me someone took the opportunity to reference Public Enemy somewhere in the thread.
Don't believe the hype

"Jim from Texas" on Finebaum just said regarding the press conference that UT Chancellor & President came across poorly, more than anybody else. I concur.

You better take a hard look anytime you agree with Finebaum or any of his callers. It was amazing how many stations he was on the years I lived in and around Alabama. He has sort of upgraded his callers since those days.

Hoe you are correct. But I still think all attorneys will meet and Pruitt gets paid a a settlement.
Probably because a clanging cymbal can be even worse, but it’s not like UT doesn’t have leverage also, because they do! It would be better for all parties to settle so that there is a formal written agreement to keep that imbecile permanently quiet! Even then it may not prevent Beldar from getting a show cause! So he and his attorney should tread lightly if he wants to stay in big boy football! Don’t forget, UGA AND Bama are also secondary parties to all of this!!!!

Offer him one years salary IMO, I hope that’s enough. We don’t want any new instances of violations get out that are not known yet by investigators.

Tennessee would be best served to disclose everything to the NCAA. If crap comes out later and it’s proven Tennessee knew of it, Lack of Institutional Control could be charged.

He'd have drank a little whiskey, laughed at Phil's dilemma and been upset that the NCAA was in town.
I think I will drink a little whiskey in honor of Coach Majors, WJ Julian, Ray Mears, General Neyland and my dad! One for each of them. Then I will come back here and we will solve all of UT's problems!
