Obvious Chancellor and President were hype men for Phil...

Pretty obvious. Although he should’ve been fired again.

Fulmer's biggest mistake was the contract extension, I'm sure even he would own up to that if asked. He redeemed himself by getting Pruitt fired for cause. He was not involved with the violations and nothing would be gained by firing him and tarnishing his name.

The extension made zero sense at the time. But Fulmer deserves to walk out this time...and stay the F gone.

As long as they’re gone, I’m happy.

Pruitt will end up getting some type of settlement. He hired a well known law firm in Birmingham and I doubt UT will want this dragged into court.

I’m guessing that the Chancellor, the President, and probably the BOT were involved in the hiring of the outside lawyers. Credit to them for taking charge. I wonder what was the role of UT’s Compliance organization?

I tend to agree with this. That way, UT can impose restrictions on what Pruitt says.

The ignorance in the contract extension alone meant Fulmer had to go.
No, Pruitt was fired for cause, so the extension had no effect. Same financial loss to the university with or without the extension. Fulmer probably has blame for knowing or something I bet though, but they wanted to make up for the poor way the university walked him out last time. Seemed like they went overboard though and it was an extreme 180 which made it seem fake.

I am glad the Fulmer went out as retired. Best thing for the University. At the end of their coaching careers, I wish that both Majors and Fulmers retired when we asked them. Forced firing of Majors and Fulmer split the fan base for years. Firing of a native son alumnus is never a pretty thing. Glad we were able to avoid that this time.

Everyone is so offended because of the praise that was foisted upon Fulmer by the Administration. Have none of you ever tried to get an angry, stubborn toddler to do what you wanted without a total public meltdown? UT gets to keep its NC winning “hero” and there’s no reason to piss off the 2 billionaire boosters who are close friends of his.

In the press conference, Chancellor Plowman said that Pruitt was responsible for people he hired, both directly and indirectly. I wonder if she applies this same standard to herself.

Don't get me wrong... I am so glad that Pruitt is being replaced.

Didn't Plowman say the findings warranted an administration change or something to that effect?
Phil is being allowed to take the easy way out.
