Other teams have very good players too. But there is a lot to like on this team. And I'm as obsessed as anyone. Wide receivers will take this team from good to great

I really like what I have been hearing about this receiving corps so far this camp. Preston Williams has been great since spring. He really reminds me of Julio Jones. Big, strong, and fast with great competitiveness. Tyler Byrd running 23.7 miles per hour is Just incredible. Just for reference, the Pittsburg Steelers may very well have the fastest receiving corps in the NFL. Their fastest receiver has been clocked at 22.6 mph and he ran a 4.30 in at the combine. I'm telling y'all right now, if Byrd stays healthy there isn't an SEC DB out there that won't have trouble covering him.....and we haven't even seen Latrell Williams yet!

Every game matters in college unlike the socialist agenda and design of the NFL. The BCS was a perfect design and the playoff has the potential to ruin it. If the playoff expands college football will suffer and so will it's fans.

College football keeps the south strong. On fall Saturday's a roaring crowd at Neyland can be heard 100s of miles away, echoing throughout the southland. It's gets louder as more talent amasses in the Wonder and it's not at full power yet. We seen but a glismpe of what Neyland is capable of in the OU and Florida games of recent years. Those games will soon be forgotten and a new age will dawn.

Friends of mine from all over this land have attended UT games over the last couple years and have been brought to tears by the shear size and atmosphere of Neyland stadium. They have seen playoff games at Arrowhead and Sports Authority and they don't hold a candle to Our house, our lives.They are NFL fans by choice. I am an SEC, Tennessee Volunteer by blood. It's an insult to compare the NFL to college football in the south.

BTW Nationdom, you totally missed the point of my comparison. NFL fans tend to be much more realistic than college fans, and I a few guesses about why but don't fully understand it.

And therein lies the problem. People get too hyped and talk so much trash that when the team doesn't do what they predict, it becomes ridiculous stuff like that and wanting to fire people.

I don't know about that, I've been hearing people calling in radio shows all summer in Nashville talking adamantly about how the Titans are going 11-5. And to answer your question about the tears, they experienced goose bumps, a shiver down their spine, and a single tear of joy and awe rolling down a cheek.

This team is going to be better than anything we've seen. An Oregon offense with am LSU defense. Thats what we have.

I agree its fantastic talent level compared to the last 10 years. Speaking of myself, I tend to get over confident because of this 10 years of starvation. Look around, several SEC teams have a similar talent level. When I come down to earth occasionally I can see we are at least a factor in the east at most, who knows.

Yup, in 98 we had several close games. It took a 4th down pass interference call on the road at Syracuse, we beat a really bad Auburn team 17 10 and didn't score any points after the first quarter, and then the miracle Arkansas game. So get ready for a wild ride this season because it's a funny game and nothing goes as expected

I don't know that they're more realistic. It's just that the NFL sets up so that a loss here or there doesn't destroy the season the way it can in the college game. Both fanbases have a moron element to them, but the college morons all get released at once vs the slow death of an NFL season.
