Observations from scrimmage

We are extremely lucky to have Brown or Oku on our team considering our coaching status at the time of their recruitment. I have no doubt that they will both prove to be stars in orange. That being said this is my first post. I have been reading VN for a quite awhile now but never posted. With all the changes in the program I cant seem to get enough information on the program. This site by far has the most up to date and informative info of any site I have found. It is so hard to not nit pick with all of the excitement going on... but we have a new staff who are just beginning to see what they have to work with. I have faith that they will get it right... thats why they make the big bucks...
Go Vols!

Someone please tell me that Crompton is not telegraphing his passes by locking onto a single receiver at the snap of the ball. I know that the OL did not give him much time last year but please tell me that he appears to be going through his reads.

Greetings all, I just recently found this site and have to say I’m hooked. Best content on all things Tennessee that I’ve found.

As this is my first post, I’ll try and stay on topic. I sure hope today’s observations on the offense holds true. With some modest improvements to offense we could have a very respectable year with some possible upsets. Of course, according to the media all of Tennessee's wins will be an upset.

On a final note, since I’m in California I’m also hoping we stick it to UCLA on the 12th. Last year was hard to deal with…

Cali_Vol you must be the other guy I saw wearing a UT shirt out here! Tough to live in a place where you miss out on the UT games huh?

Someone on Wes Rucker's twitter said that Crompton was looking off receivers today and was going through all the necessary reads thus helping him complete his first 9 passes.

He has had a few rough practices though where people have wrote he was still locking in.

It looks like though that the coaches are trying to instill that in him and it is a work in progress.

You can see me represent the VOL NAVY on the CA Delta every other weekend! Lots of orange on that boat.

Last game I saw was a few years ago vs GA. Took my dad to his first Tennessee game. We had a great time regardless of the score.

The guy has been playing QB for 3 years and this is his 4th. Shouldn't these basic QB issues be behind him by now?

A solid running game from a deep bench can do a lot for a quarterback's confidence.

with the new clock rules they put into play last year teams have fewer opportunities to score. Ball control, like we used have in the 90's, just kills a team physically and demoralizes them mentally. If we can run the ball successfully good things will happen and our QB will be the benefactor

The OP said he couldn't see the defenders out there so it could be that OKU was playing against the 2nd team D and BROWN was playing against the 1st team D. That makes a huge difference. 10 yard run on 1st team D = 20-30 yard run on 2nd team D

why do we only have addidas visors??? they look soo stupid we should have oakleys. not a huge deal but the best teams have the best equipment and the best recruits want the best equipment.

And all along I thought it was , SUV's and Textbooks.

Yeah Guys. This is week 1. There is still a lot of time to fine tune things. However, news the offense is where it is now, so early, is great news. Go Vols!!! Can't wait till kick off!!!
