There is a lot of the fanbase screaming about how Hurd was a disruption to the cohesive nature of the team, and the team will perform better without him...

...how is the rest of the team (short of a few players who bring it every week) any better than Hurd? If they weren't playing up to their full potential and half azzing it, arent they to a degree just as bad as Hurd??

Not flaming the team, just an observation.

Before Hurd's leaving was ever announced there were rumors of several players walking out of the Sunday team meeting, not just Hurd. Although I do think his attitude was influencing the team, I don't think he was alone and I certainly don't think he's the only player to be full of ego. I do think he was made an example to the rest of the team, so maybe they pull it together enough to finish out the season.

At the risk of stating the obvious some of them aren't even beginners. Hard to quit when you never start playing.

Not really...my point is shouldn't the team have been performing up to where the should have...or aren't they quitters also....??

The team...quitters? Where were you thr first five games?

Look man, I know after a bad loss, everyone wont to pile on like the world is crumbling. Coming up with all these rumors and unoriginal ideas does nothing but feeds the frenzy of the idiotic segement of the fanbase.

How about we just give the kids a chance to play ball before we starting deeming them all quitters, good grief.

When the rest of the team flat out refuses to play in a game then you are right.

I see it like this. If a coworker is always complaining about something and threating to quit their job constantly, then you better distance yourself ASAP. You can fall into the same poor thinking if you listen enough. This is why most believe the team is better off without Hurd. A massive ego and sharing a miserable attitude with the team is cancer to the program.

Well, those of you thinking we are going to have this great turn around are going to have a rude awakening. My point is, I don't think they are quitters. I do think they have been playing their hardest, but are being held back by an inept coaching staff.

And dont give me garbage about injuries. They looked like crap against App St., Ohio and to a degree VT.

I love these kids and think they have great heart, but their leadership is failing them off the field, on the field and in the locker room. This latest episode with Kongbo and Hurd are symptoms, not the disease.

Here is a tip, if you dont want people to think you are calling them all quitters, then dont suggest in any way that they are quitters. It's stupid.

What was your expectation through the first five games? 5-0? Well they gave us that. What were most realistic expectation after 7 games ? 5-2? Well they gave us that too. Would you rather they play their games like they did last year against Oklahoma / Florida???

Well, I was playing devil's advocate...trying to make people realize there is not going to be this great turn around due to JH leaving.

quitters on this team not now the only one that did left no 7 and no 1 the rest haven't quit.and an observation on hurd if you watched his running this year compared to last year he didn't hit the line like he did last year except for a few times. I think they finish winning out getting a decent bowl and finish strong.

Lol. At least the other guys on the team have the balls to stick it out for the entire season unlike somebody we all know
