Obscurity City here: Chad Clifton

For some Twilight Zone reason, I started thinking about all the great offensive linemen we've had at UT. Chad Clifton protected the blind side for Peyton Manning, Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers for 15 years! 3 of the 15 or so GOAT QBs!

Chad almost killed me one night....I was on a football staff and we were playing Martin Westview Chads senior year....He was lead blocking on a sweep towards our sideline and did a go low and roll block about 5 yards in front of me. I saw him rolling towards me like a derailed freight train. My only option to avoid early death was to time it perfectly to leap over him....My vertical leap at the time wasn't near as good as it was in my younger days...I didn't quite avoid his big body and did a half gainer. I still haven't fully recovered...Lol

Yep...he was a good one. Westview put out some good linemen over the years. Their principal right now and a good friend is a old offensive lineman. He played college ball with my son.

Yeah, Sapp tracked him down and hit Clifton in the back as Clifton was walking to the sideline. Sapp caught significant grief over the hit.

I am pretty sure it was Sapp. So it happen on he TV and they reran it 2=3 times. Sapp should have been suspended. Not a hit that would kill, but could have been a career ender.
