1. All of you who have claimed Chris Lofton can play in the NBA, please watch tonight's tape again.
2. To all of our genius fans who thought we had the advantage in depth, check Earl Clark's numbers.
3. To everyone who questioned me placing Louisville ahead of Tennessee in the Trap's preseason poll, I'm not laughing with you, I'm laughing at you.
4. Tyler Smith should go to the draft forthwith. Building a life for your child is far more important than entertaining a bunch of ingrates.
5. Ramar, don't listen to our alleged fan base. You'll be fine.
6. JP, please see if Lute will take you back.
7. Ryan Childress, Wright State could use you.
8. Bruce, use that scholarship to get Ramar some JUCO help.
9. Brian Williams and Wayne Chism, keep doing what you're doing. You're both going to make a lot of money playing this game.
10. Cam Tatum, your time is now.

Hat, your thoughts on Ramar in general? Is he out of position -- i.e., just not a point guard? Has he regressed? That's the most mystifying thing to me about this season -- at this time last year, I thought we had a great young PG (well, at least somebody who could play the position) that would grow up in the position and probably leave after this year. A year later, we've got a forward playing PG as we bow out. What happened?

He did regress. There's no debate about that. However, I think a huge portion of that was that he had no competition to push him. You have to play against good competition in practice every day to get better. Jordan Howell? He wouldn't help the PG at Hiwasse get better.

Tony Jones spoke very highly of Daniel West. From what I've been told, Ramar will have much better competition this time around. Also, has anyone else noticed that Ramar sometimes lets his frustration(s) affect his decision making? Personally, I think the majority of his struggles are more mental than physical.

All right: next question: Outcoached? Out-talented? Both? Are their players (as in, players, not athletes) as much better than ours as they appeared to be, or did Petino just control the game enough to put them in better spots?

I will freely admit that I don't know enough about basketball, considering that I've watched it my whole life. (I am 5' 9", so playing it was never an option.) Trying to learn how to watch it, though.

I thought Louisville was better than us in October. I saw nothing happen during the season that told me a healthy Card squad wasn't better than us.

I'd say a little of both. I don't think it's debatable we were severely outmanned in the frontcourt, as well as depth. Their length seem to really bother us on both ends of the floor (especially Chris and JaJuan). Louisville also appeared to be much more physical (J.P. Prince was thrown around like a rag doll all night long).

Also, was this our only hope for a while to get past the sweet sixteen for a while anyway, and try to make a prediction for next years squad- record or talent wise

If Tyler Smith returns and Scottie Hopson signs with Tennesee, UT will play in the '09 Final Four. Write it down in ink.

While this post wasn't directed towards me, how can someone make a legit prediction given Tyler's upcoming decision? Not to mention the potential signature of Scotty Hopson.

Hat, have you also heard the rumor of Derrick Caracter wanting to forego his junior season for the upcoming draft?

I just don't know that I think Pearl could have done to affect anything, which is why I'm curious why "outcoached" might apply. This almost looked like a Fulmer-in-the-90s situation, honestly: Lousiville looked so much bigger and more talented than us that I think Petino could have just watched this one in a lawn chair. They looked better than us everywhere.

It's not a rumor. He told the media he was going pro earlier today. My guess is that Pitino won't miss his. He's been nothing but problems. Samardo Samulels will be a huge upgrade.

I only question having J.P. being our primary press breaker in the first half (Bruce obviously turned that task over to Ramar after J.P. suffered a couple of mental lapses).

Interesting. If Terrence Jennings can qualify, Rick will be sittin' pretty in the frontcourt again.

From what I have heard Pitino is actually giving him the Rodrick Rhodes treatment. They will be much better off without him.

"Clark said he knew the Vols were in trouble late in the first half when Prince was trying to beat the Cardinals' pressure in the backcourt and had the ball taken away from him by Jerry Smith, who was fouled. As Prince walked toward the free-throw line, he looked hopelessly at Pearl on the Vols' sideline and motioned that he'd been hacked."

Does it bother anyone else that JP whines and points everytime he turns the ball over, like when he threw a 10 ft halfcourt pass that went over everyones head and still mouthed off about it. Shut up and play!!

My girlfriend has watched most of the games with me all year and even she thinks he whines too much.
