Most of the Arab states (at least the Sunni ones) are shizzing their pants at the thought of a nuclear Iran. It ain't just Israel under threat.

I'm arguing that the Iranian prime minister has never threatened to wipe them off the map and that claims that Iran is a major threat to Israel are exaggerated to push political agendas.

North Korea, Pakistan, Russia, China...plenty of people have nuclear weapons. I don't see the difference here.

We certainly have a right to trying to make the world look the way we want.

What we do to exercise that right is where the limits come in IMHO and where much of the policy debate really lies.

NK, Pakistan and Russia aren't fighting proxy wars all across the ME like Iran is. Iran is backing Assad, Hezbollah, and various other groups at odds with Sunni majorities across many Arab states. This conflict is ancient and ongoing and the Sunni side is rightly scared with what they've seen since we in part upset the balance with Iraq campaign.

One side of this conflict being nuclear is a BFD (to quote our VP)

You must be the only person in the world other than the Ayatollah that doesn't think Iran is a threat to worldwide stability.

Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Wednesday called for Israel to be "wiped off the map".

"The establishment of the Zionist regime was a move by the world oppressor against the Islamic world," the President told a conference in Tehran entitled 'the world without Zionism'.

"The skirmishes in the occupied land are part of a war of destiny. The outcome of hundreds of years of war will be defined in Palestinian land," he said.

China and America faught proxy wars while having nuclear weapons. I'm still not seeing a distinction

I don't think this is going to go over very well with the Russians. We're either engaged in warfare(Syria) or sanctioning(Iran) their allies in the Middle East.

The US has lost credibility throughout the world..

Don't you think we come at it from a rather hypocritical stance? Being the only nation to ever actually use them against another nation. Not once, but twice. To go along with our wars of aggression (Iraq) and other foreign policy blunders.

Just as a matter of asking for the sake of discussion, but what alternative did we have in WWII? The invasion of mainland Japan that would like have caused millions of casualties?

I'm explaining why the Sunni Arab countries are highly concerned. It upsets the balance of power.

We fought them against another nuke state as did China - you know that whole Mutually Assured Destruction thing?

If only Iran has the nukes the Sunni side is at a HUGE disadvantage as there is no MAD.
