Obama: Women 'Rely' on Planned Parenthood for Mammograms; FDA: No They Don't | CNSNews.com

During Tuesday's second presidential debate, President Barack Obama said that women "rely" on Planned Parenthood for mammograms, but, according to the Food and Drug Administration, no Planned Parenthood facility in the United States is licensed to do mammograms.

During Tuesday night’s debate against his Republican challenger Mitt Romney, Obama said, “When Gov. Romney says that we should eliminate funding for Planned Parenthood, there are millions of women all across the country who rely on Planned Parenthood for not just contraceptive care; they rely on it for mammograms, for cervical cancer screenings. That’s a pocketbook issue for women and families all across the country, and it makes a difference in terms of how well and effectively women are able to work.”

Last June, the Department of Health and Human Services said in response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request that no Planned Parenthood clinic in the United States has mammogram equipment.

Live Action, on a related note, conducted a similar investigation by calling Planned Parenthood clinics around the United States trying to schedule mammograms. They were told by the clinics that they did not do mammograms but could be referred to a separate, non-Planned Parenthood facility.

“When you repeatedly hear pro-Planned Parenthood, pro-abortion politicians, whether it’s [Vice President] Biden or President Obama or Planned Parenthood executives pushing this lie [about mammograms], it’s because this is their whole case for the public to justify taxpayer funding,” Lila Rose, founder of Live Action, told CNSNews.com.

Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion-provider in the nation. According to its own fact sheets, Planned Parenthood performed 985,731 abortions between 2008 and 2010 – 329,445 in 2010 alone. Planned Parenthood also receives taxpayer money every year and got $487.4 million in 2009-2010.

They decried Komen’s decision to eliminate funding for this imagined provider of mammograms. Planned Parenthood’s Executive Director, Cecile Richards, , made the claim. So did President Obama. And an unsuspecting public was led to believe that such bold claims, by people who should know, must be true.

And the president’s campaign together with Planned Parenthood’s ads continue to beat this drum (almost as if they were coordinated), building off the earlier confusion to frighten voters about the prospect of a Romney administration cutting off funding for Planned Parenthood’s “cancer screenings.”

Anytime someone suggests to you that Planned Parenthood performs mammograms, I encourage you to share with them this letter from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services demonstrating that it’s untrue. No Planned Parenthood clinic in the country is authorized to perform mammograms.

When President Obama and other Planned Parenthood partisans were making their mammogram claims, Alliance Defending Freedom filed a Freedom of Information Act request to seek any certificates held by any Planned Parenthood clinic or affiliate in the country. The response from President Obama’s own HHS is that no such certificates exist. No Planned Parenthood affiliate in the nation possesses the necessary certification to perform mammograms under federal law. Subsequent e-mails to the department further confirmed this fact.

The former CEO of the Susan G Kommen Foundation has reported that the charity has lost $4mil in donations since they flip flopped on supporting Planned Parenthood. And reiterated the fact that PP doesn't do mammograms.

The 4 mil number isn't in the article, but I was listening to her talk on the tube on Thursday this week and she threw that number out.

what can i say? i get offended by those who don't take God seriously. That's why I am not God and why this is a perfect example of why we have a loving God.

And besides, you libs support the murder of innocent lives, why shouldn't you expect the same demise that you advocate?

Life begins at contraception you silly goose. Not only is that common sense but if you think otherwise you're a buffoon- no offense. Even jo biden admitted it!

Second if you want a Biblical example, read Luke 1. Elizabeth is pregnant with John the Baptist and when Mary comes over to visit, Jesus leaped in the womb.

1. Do you believe that human life is sacred because the human body is ensouled?

2. Do you believe that two souls can occupy one human container?

3. Do you think that once the egg is fertilized, it is ensouled?

The castle is solid sir. Scripture is clear. Human life begins at conception. The human cell is more complicated than the most complicated piece of machinery man could ever create. If anyone's view is made of sand, that would be your sir. Seriously now, I hope you get that straightened out before it's too late.

And really, if i gave you the answers that you never comprehended, would that change anything for your in the mind? Of course not. What you can do is look up Psalm 14:1 and meditate on that.

Where in the bible does it say that life begins at conception? No, it is not common sense. Why do you draw the line at conception? Why not before? The bible does say it is an abomination to spill your seed without the intent of procreating. Maybe we should also make masturbation illegal. Let Christianity rule our nation! It's not like we're supposed to be a secular country or anything...
